L2 Network Engineer (Data Centre, CCNA)

An exciting opportunity for an experienced L2 Network Engineer to join a dynamic team in a data centre environment. This role is ideal for professionals with strong CCNA-level networking knowledge and hands-on experience in advanced network installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance. You will play a key role in ensuring seamless network operations while mentoring junior technicians and maintaining high standards of documentation.

What you'll do:

• Perform advanced switch/router installations, including rack/stack, power-up, configuration, and feature enablement.
• Troubleshoot L2/L3 issues using structured methods and resolve complex incidents during build windows.
• Validate physical and logical connectivity through link aggregation, VLAN trunking, and end-to-end testing.
• Lead staging and burn-in activities while coordinating maintenance windows and implementing changes.
• Mentor junior technicians by reviewing their work for accuracy and enforcing best practices.
• Maintain accurate as-built network records, including port maps, serials, rack elevations, and IP allocations.

What you bring:

• Strong understanding of CCNA-level networking concepts such as IP addressing, VLANs, STP, EtherChannel/LAG, static routes, and basic OSPF.
• Hands-on experience with data centre cabling and optics (SFP/SFP+/QSFP form factors, fiber types).
• Proficiency in using console servers, terminal emulators, ticketing systems, and basic scripting tools.
• Exceptional attention to detail with disciplined documentation habits.
• Preferred: CCNA certification or equivalent demonstrated competence.
