What you'll do:
As Head of Network Engineering based in Shah Alam, you will play an instrumental role in shaping the organisation’s digital infrastructure strategy. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve developing comprehensive technology roadmaps that span LAN/WAN/data centre/cloud/telecom systems. - Define and implement comprehensive network strategies and technology roadmaps that support organisational growth, scalability, reliability, and security across LAN, WAN, data centre, cloud, and telecom systems.
- Provide technical direction for internal and external projects by sharing expertise in network architecture design, feasibility studies, cost analysis, performance tuning, capacity planning, and modernisation initiatives such as SD-WAN automation and zero-trust frameworks.
- Embed industry-leading best practices into workflows through continuous process enhancements while driving compliance gap assessments and implementing remediation plans to achieve full regulatory alignment.
- Oversee 24/7 network performance management including disaster recovery planning, root-cause reviews, SLA enforcement, preventive maintenance activities to ensure high availability.
- Lead holistic problem management efforts by conducting thorough analyses to identify root causes and deliver strategic resolutions that enhance service reliability.
- Manage and mentor the network engineering and operations team by establishing clear performance goals, supporting certifications acquisition, facilitating career progression pathways, and nurturing professional growth.

What you bring:
To excel as Head of Network Engineering you bring extensive experience managing large-scale high-availability networks across multiple sites or global operations. Your academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology from a recognised institution with strong academic achievement. You have spent over ten years honing your skills in network engineering—developing deep expertise in routing/switching protocols (BGP/OSPF/MPLS/VXLAN), datacentre architectures (spine-leaf), SD-WAN technologies—and possess hands-on familiarity with cloud networking solutions (AWS/Azure/GCP). Your proficiency extends to automation/orchestration tools such as Python/Ansible/Terraform which enable you to streamline operations efficiently. You have successfully led teams—mentoring engineers towards certification goals—while fostering an inclusive environment that supports professional development. Your ability to develop strategic roadmaps aligns technical initiatives with broader business objectives; you manage budgets meticulously overseeing procurement cycles asset lifecycles CAPEX/OPEX effectively. - Possession of a bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology (or equivalent)
- At least ten years’ relevant experience in network engineering or architecture across LAN/WAN/data centre/cloud environments with two to five years in management or senior leadership roles is mandatory.
- Demonstrated track record overseeing large-scale high-availability networks including global or multi-site operations is highly valued.
- Broad expertise in routing/switching protocols such as BGP/OSPF/MPLS/VXLAN plus datacentre architectures like spine-leaf models as well as advanced technologies like SD-WAN are required.
- Strong understanding of network security concepts including firewalls/VPNs/IDS-IPS/zero-trust architecture/compliance frameworks is necessary.
