Principal Network Engineer (Cisco)

A leading organization is seeking a highly skilled Principal Network Engineer to oversee the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of its enterprise network systems. This role involves managing LAN/WAN infrastructure and Azure Cloud networking while ensuring optimal performance, security, and service availability. What you'll do:

• Plan, design, implement, and maintain enterprise network systems to ensure continuous service availability.
• Oversee LAN/WAN infrastructure and Azure Cloud networking for data centers, HQs, and branches.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to minimize downtime.
• Manage network-related projects and collaborate with service providers on WAN/LAN designs.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies for network operations and security.
• Provide Level 2/3 support for network troubleshooting and configuration changes.
• Support disaster recovery operations and participate in 24/7 on-call rotations.
• Configure backbone connections via Azure ExpressRoute and monitor cloud network infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Cloud Architects to deliver migration services aligned with business needs.
• Prepare technical proposals for new equipment and conduct financial reviews of business cases.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience in large-scale networking environments.
• Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE (preferred).
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in enterprise network environments across multiple platforms.
• Expertise in Cisco technologies, including routers, firewalls (Check Point/Palo Alto), load balancers, and structured cabling.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, OSPF/EIGRP routing protocols, and Layer 1–3 technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Azure cloud networking (NSG, Application Gateway, Load Balancer).
• Proficiency in using enterprise network monitoring tools and analyzing traffic patterns.
• Familiarity with Cloud Service Models (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS) and hybrid cloud networking.
• Experience with Agile/DevOps methodologies; scripting skills (Ansible/Python) are a plus.
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills for evaluating network performance and implementing solutions.
