What you'll do:

As a Microsoft Dynamics NAV Systems Engineer, you will:

• Assume full administrative control of the Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) environment, taking over from the outgoing engineer to ensure uninterrupted system operations.
• Monitor system health, performance metrics, and availability on a continuous basis to proactively identify and address potential issues before they impact users or business processes.
• Manage all aspects of database maintenance including regular backups, restores, indexing, and integrity checks to safeguard data reliability and support disaster recovery protocols.
• Administer user accounts, roles, and permission sets within Navision, maintaining strict access controls and compliance with internal security policies.
• Apply hotfixes, service packs, and patches according to established change control procedures to keep the platform secure and up-to-date.
• Oversee the underlying Windows Server infrastructure hosting Navision, ensuring optimal configuration and uptime for all related services.
• Act as the single point of escalation for all technical incidents related to Navision; diagnose system errors, resolve data issues swiftly, and document solutions for future reference.
• Investigate root causes of recurring failures or performance degradation, implementing robust fixes that prevent recurrence and enhance overall system resilience.
• Maintain and monitor existing integrations with third-party systems such as SAP, BI tools, and middleware; troubleshoot interface failures and ensure reliable data synchronisation across platforms.

What you bring:

To excel as a Microsoft Dynamics NAV Systems Engineer, you will:

• Extensive hands-on experience administering Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) at a system level within medium or large-scale organisations is essential for success in this role.
• Proficiency in SQL Server administration including query writing, backup/recovery procedures, performance tuning, and troubleshooting is required to maintain database integrity.
• Demonstrated ability managing Windows Server environments that host ERP applications ensures you can oversee critical infrastructure components effectively.
• Familiarity with reading, interpreting, and troubleshooting NAV/AL code as well as customisations is necessary; development skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
• Proven track record maintaining system integrations with third-party platforms (such as SAP or BI tools), scheduled jobs, automated processes, and data interfaces is highly valued.
• Experience acting as the sole technical owner or primary administrator of complex IT systems demonstrates your dependability under minimal supervision.
