Head of FinOps

A leading bank is seeking a Head of FinOps to establish and lead an enterprise-wide capability to ensure financial transparency, cost optimization, and value realization across the banking group. The candidate will oversee Technology Financial Management, cloud consumption analytics, cost optimization, and benefits tracking. This position plays a critical role in supporting the bank's technology strategy, cloud adoption roadmap, and disciplined execution of technology investments.

What you'll do:

• Cloud Financial Management (FinOps): Establish a FinOps operating model to govern cloud cost ownership, tagging standards, forecasting cadence, anomaly management, and executive reporting. Drive cost governance for cloud adoption and migration initiatives while embedding financial accountability within engineering and delivery teams.
• Technology Financial Management (TFM): Develop an enterprise-wide technology cost model covering cloud, on-premise infrastructure, software licenses, SaaS, managed services, vendor costs, and major investments. Lead the group’s technology division’s budgeting and financial planning processes while providing cost optimization analysis and investment insights.
• Cloud Consumption Analytics: Build dashboards to monitor cloud usage trends, cost drivers, anomalies, and unit economics. Provide actionable insights by application, environment, product, platform, or cost center.
• Technology Cost Optimization: Manage the enterprise-wide cost optimization pipeline across various domains such as cloud infrastructure, licenses, SaaS contracts, capacity planning, decommissioning efforts, and technical debt reduction. Partner with procurement teams to drive commercial negotiations and efficiency initiatives.
• Governance & Leadership: Act as a key finance partner across the group’s technology leadership teams while establishing governance forums for FinOps practices. Build a high-performing team focused on continuous improvement in financial management processes.

What you bring:

• 15 years of experience in the technology sector or related fields such as IT financial management or transformation governance
• At least 8 years in a leadership role managing enterprise technology cost governance or value management.
• Strong understanding of banking industry operations with expertise in regulatory requirements for digital/technology functions is highly preferred but not necessary
• Proven ability to manage complex cross-functional stakeholders in a regulated environment.
• Certifications relevant to FinOps are advantageous
