Oracle DBA Lead (DevOps Automation)

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Oracle DBA Lead with a strong focus on DevOps automation. This role involves designing and implementing automation solutions for Oracle database environments using modern tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in Oracle databases and cloud platforms, coupled with a passion for driving automation and mentoring teams.

What you'll do:

• Design, develop, and maintain automation workflows for Oracle database environments using IaC principles.
• Build provisioning workflows with Terraform for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Develop and manage Ansible playbooks/roles for database deployment, patching, configuration, and compliance.
• Automate key Oracle DB lifecycle operations such as installation, upgrades, patching, backup, cloning, and disaster recovery.
• Integrate automation pipelines with Git-based workflows and implement CI/CD pipelines for database and infrastructure changes.
• Ensure security, compliance, monitoring, logging, and alerting across automated processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the adoption of DevOps culture and best practices.

What you bring:

• Proven experience with Terraform (modules, state management) and advanced Ansible skills (roles, inventories).
• Strong expertise in Oracle Database architecture, performance tuning, RMAN backups, Data Guard, and multitenant environments.
• Solid understanding of Git workflows (GitFlow or trunk-based development) and scripting languages like Python or Shell scripting.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as OCI and experience implementing CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of IaC best practices including modularity, reusability, versioning, and secrets management.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with excellent communication skills to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in global enterprise environments and / or mentoring junior engineers or leading small teams is a plus.
