What you'll do:

As a Data Engineer – Data Integration and Support based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the operational stability of enterprise data platforms. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve supporting complex integration processes, troubleshooting technical issues related to APIs or system connectivity, developing robust configurations for seamless data flow, assisting with onboarding new sources or migrating legacy systems, monitoring workflow performance for continuous improvement, contributing to automation efforts that streamline operations, preparing insightful reports on platform health, collaborating with both internal stakeholders and external users for optimal service delivery, and participating in Agile team activities.   • Support and maintain data integration processes to ensure reliable and timely delivery of information across multiple systems within the enterprise.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to APIs, data feeds, system connectivity, and application integrations by working closely with internal teams.
  • Analyse technical challenges by performing root cause analysis and collaborating with Engineering and Product teams for effective resolution.
  • Develop and maintain integration configurations tailored to business requirements and client needs, ensuring seamless operation of data flows.
  • Assist with onboarding new data sources and migrating legacy platforms to modern cloud-based solutions, facilitating smooth transitions for stakeholders.
  • Utilise cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, Google BigQuery, and Databricks to support ongoing integration activities and optimise performance.
  • Monitor operational performance of data workflows to proactively identify potential issues or improvement opportunities that enhance reliability.
  • Contribute to automation initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and reducing manual operational processes within the data engineering function.
  • Prepare operational reports and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide actionable insights on platform stability and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders as well as external users to ensure smooth service delivery and participate actively in Agile team activities including sprint planning, prioritisation, and issue management.

What you bring:

Your proven experience as a Data Engineer – Data Integration and Support will include a solid academic background in computer science or related fields coupled with practical exposure to SQL programming, Python or Java development, API integrations using JSON/XML formats, understanding of ETL processes and system interfaces. You will bring familiarity with cloud-based platforms such as Snowflake or Google BigQuery along with strong troubleshooting capabilities that allow you to investigate technical issues efficiently. Your interpersonal skills will enable you to communicate clearly across teams while your analytical mindset ensures you can deliver actionable insights through operational reporting. Experience supporting enterprise environments or production systems is advantageous; exposure to automation tools like Azure DevOps or monitoring solutions such as Splunk further enhances your profile. Familiarity with reporting tools like Power BI or Excel plus knowledge of Agile methodologies rounds out your skillset.
