Data Science & Engineering Lead

This company, a market leader in their industry is seeking a talented Data Science & Engineering Lead to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of AI and machine learning, leading a team of data scientists, data engineers, and ML Engineers. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining AI/ML models and AI products, ensuring their stability, performance, and continuous operation.

What you'll do:

As a Data Science & Engineering Lead, you will play a pivotal role in leading a team of talented data scientists & engineers. Furthermore, you will coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of AI solutions.

• Lead and manage a team of data scientists, data engineers & ML engineers
• Monitor and maintain the performance of AI products
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
• Be a key part of setting up and recruiting the roles required to create the local team in Malaysia
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of AI solutions
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
• Manage and prioritize the team's workload, ensuring timely and successful delivery of projects

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Data Science & Engineering Lead position brings a wealth of experience in Data Science along with proven people management skills. You should have excellent technical skills including proficiency in Python, R and SQL. Experience with managing data scientists and data engineers is essential. Additionally, hands-on experience in deploying models and algorithms into production systems would be highly beneficial.

• A master's degree in computer science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in Data Science
• At least 2 years of experience in a people management role
• Experience with managing data scientists and data engineers
• Excellent skills within Python, R, SQL, and cloud computing technologies
• Hands-on experience in deploying models and algorithms into production systems is desirable
• Experience with ML Ops tools and frameworks such as Kubeflow, MLflow is desirable
• Experience in manufacturing industry would be a plus
