What you'll do:
As a Supply Chain Manager based in Bayan Lepas, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s supply chain strategy by overseeing procurement, planning, logistics activities, inventory management, supplier development, contract review, import/export declarations, ERP implementation support, reporting on excess & obsolete stock, building materials teams for production transfers, embedding lean concepts into daily operations, recruiting/training/developing staff members. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless production flow; monitoring key performance indicators; implementing programmes that balance schedule flexibility with cost targets; managing logistics activities from material storage/distribution through finished product shipment; reviewing purchase orders/contracts for compliance; conducting cycle counts; handling inter-company orders; developing new suppliers in low-cost regions; controlling site inventory budgets; preparing regular reports on slow-moving/obsolete stock; supporting ERP system rollout; building/training materials teams for production transfers; ensuring lean principles are applied throughout operations; recruiting/training/developing staff members. Success in this role requires excellent organisational skills combined with strong interpersonal abilities—enabling you to connect with colleagues across departments while driving process improvements that benefit both the business unit and its customers.
- Manage, control, and direct all activities related to procurement, planning, and supply chain management while guiding staff towards achieving operational excellence.
- Monitor and report on strategic KPIs such as inventory turns, vendor performance (on-time delivery, quality, cost reduction), operational material savings, and other key metrics to ensure targets are met.
- Develop and implement programmes that maximise schedule flexibility while minimising inventory exposure and maintaining performance against cost targets; provide support for critical expedite requests as needed.
- Oversee daily logistics activities within the factory including master planning, procurement storage and distribution of materials, as well as the storage and shipment of finished products.
- Review purchase order claims and contracts promptly to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure periodic scheduled cycle counts are conducted efficiently to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Manage import and export declarations in accordance with regulatory requirements to facilitate smooth international operations.
- Handle inter-company order management processes to ensure effective coordination between business units.
- Lead efforts in developing new suppliers in low-cost regions to expand sourcing options and improve cost efficiency.
- Monitor site inventory budgets closely and take proactive actions to keep them under control while supporting ERP system implementation at the Penang factory.
- Prepare weekly/monthly reports for slow-moving and obsolete stock (excess & obsolete), taking prompt action to handle obsolete materials responsibly.
- Build and train materials teams to support production transfer processes effectively while embedding lean concepts into daily execution.
- Recruit, train, develop, conduct performance evaluations, recognise achievements, and discipline assigned employees as required.

- Bachelor’s degree or above in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related business education is required for this position.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in material management within a multinational company coupled with at least 3 years’ managerial experience overseeing teams.
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing practices along with commodity expertise in electrics/electronics/mechanical parts is essential for success.
- Proven experience working with ERP systems (such as Navision) as well as warehouse management systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills paired with a problem-solving mindset enable you to identify process improvements quickly while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
- High level of commitment combined with responsibility ensures you consistently deliver results aligned with organisational goals.
