An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Manager to join a leading organisation in Kuala Lumpur on a one-year contract. This role offers you the chance to play a pivotal part in shaping procurement operations within a dynamic, global environment. You will be at the heart of end-to-end procurement processes, ensuring seamless execution and compliance while working closely with cross-functional teams.

What you'll do:

As a Procurement Manager based in Kuala Lumpur on a one-year contract basis, you will immerse yourself in the orchestration of procurement operations that underpin the organisation’s success. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include :

  • Oversee the full spectrum of procurement operations by executing and monitoring Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes such as Purchase Requisition (PR), Purchase Order (PO) creation, and catalogue enablement to ensure accuracy and adherence to policies.
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of Source-to-Contract (S2C) and P2P frameworks, aligning sourcing outcomes with contracting requirements and downstream operational needs.
  • Manage all aspects of vendor onboarding, creation, and maintenance while ensuring strict compliance with group policies, local regulations, and internal controls.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business users, category managers, and cross-functional teams including Finance, Legal, and Compliance to facilitate seamless procurement activities.
  • Build robust stakeholder relationships through effective engagement strategies, clear communication channels, and prompt resolution of requests or escalations.
  • Monitor service levels (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs), proactively identifying potential risks or delays and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Provide Level 0 operational support to both internal and external stakeholders regarding procurement systems, policies, and processes to maintain high service standards.
  • Champion operational excellence by identifying process gaps, conducting root cause analyses, and driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the department.
  • Ensure all procurement activities are executed in line with internal governance frameworks, audit requirements, and established best practices for risk mitigation.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members by supporting onboarding efforts, facilitating training sessions, transferring knowledge effectively, and nurturing a collaborative team environment.

What you bring:

To excel as a Procurement Manager in this role, your background should reflect substantial experience managing end-to-end procurement functions within large-scale organisations or shared services environments.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing or an equivalent field is required for this role.
  • At least ten years’ experience in procurement operations is essential to ensure familiarity with industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in using Procurement or ERP systems as well as Procure-to-Pay (P2P) platforms is highly valued for efficient workflow management.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suites are necessary for data analysis and reporting purposes within the department.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage people effectively by coaching team members towards higher performance levels is crucial for success.
  • Strong analytical capabilities are needed to translate complex data into actionable insights that inform decision-making processes.
  • A keen sense of urgency combined with the ability to work under pressure ensures deadlines are consistently met without compromising quality.
  • Ownership mentality coupled with accountability fosters proactive problem-solving when challenges arise during daily operations.
  • Adaptability is important as you navigate changing business needs or new system implementations within a global context.
  • The ability to read Chinese would be considered an added advantage due to the international scope of business interactions.
