Material Planning Manager (Mechanical)

What you'll do:
- Lead the development of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) for complex, multi-component product lines, ensuring alignment with customer demand and production capabilities.
- Oversee high-value inventory strategies by optimising stock levels to balance operational agility with financial health, minimising excess while preventing shortages.
- Partner closely with global procurement and logistics teams to mitigate lead-time risks and proactively navigate supply chain disruptions that could impact production timelines.
- Manage and mentor a professional planning team, elevating departmental capabilities from operational execution to strategic foresight through guidance and support.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles alongside advanced data analytics to streamline planning workflows, enhance forecasting accuracy, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings with stakeholders across engineering, procurement, production, and sales to ensure synchronisation of supply chain activities.
- Monitor key performance indicators related to material flow, inventory turnover, and production efficiency, providing actionable insights for process optimisation.
- Develop scalable planning processes that build long-term supply chain resilience beyond daily operational challenges.
- Negotiate effectively with internal partners and external suppliers to secure favourable terms that support business objectives.
- Champion best practices in material planning by staying abreast of industry trends and regulatory requirements.
What you bring:
- 8–10+ years of proven leadership experience within Material Planning or Supply Chain functions in Mechanical, Electronics or Automotive sector.
- Solid experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle coupled with high proficiency in data modelling techniques and advanced Excel skills is required.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Business-related discipline forms the academic foundation needed for success.
- Strong stakeholder management skills are vital; you must be able to facilitate cross-functional meetings and negotiate effectively with both internal teams and external partners.
- The ability to look beyond immediate operational challenges by building scalable planning processes that foster long-term supply chain resilience is highly valued.
- Experience implementing lean manufacturing principles alongside advanced data analytics tools will set you apart as an ideal candidate.
- Excellent communication skills are necessary for influencing outcomes across diverse teams while maintaining harmonious relationships.
