What you'll do:

As the Demand Planning Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing, aligning, and communicating the demand plan for your assigned category or subsidiary.

  • Regularly interact with commercial teams including customer marketing and consumer marketing to gather customer plans and other demand inputs, determining deviations versus statistical demand plan, gaining alignment, and documenting key assumptions.
  • Prepare and hold monthly demand review meetings with commercial development teams to review actual month results and align upcoming forecast plans.
  • Participate in monthly commercial meetings discipline to develop an aligned demand plan or demand assumptions, identifying gaps and opportunities which are quantified and addressed; share demand plan valuation to align with business targets.
  • Synchronise supply and demand by ensuring alignment of final demand plan to supply plan; identify and communicate supply risks, opportunities, constraints, potential solutions, and impact on unconstrained demand plan; share commercial activities and insights with supply network planning during sales and operations meetings.
  • Support new product planning and life cycle planning by working cross-functionally to finalise pipeline volume and first six months of demand for new products; track and measure actual shipments versus documented key assumptions; collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage SKU performance and new product development inventory management.
  • Understand, utilise, and monitor integrated business planning (IBP) demand sensing alerts for short-term demand changes.
  • Lead SKU simplification initiatives to optimise product portfolio efficiency.
  • Lead slow-moving obsolete stock (SLOB) management processes to ensure inventory health.
  • Ensure master data such as SKU lifestage, SKU type, and supply chain attributes are maintained accurately for effective planning.

What you bring:

Your proven experience as a Demand Planning Manager will enable you to excel in this role by bringing together deep industry knowledge with exceptional interpersonal abilities.

  • Demonstrated experience in demand planning within the FMCG sector or similar industries where forecasting accuracy is paramount.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across commercial teams including customer marketing, consumer marketing, supply chain functions, and customer engagement groups.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in utilising statistical forecasting models for SKU conversion as well as advanced data analytics tools for trend visibility.
  • Experience preparing comprehensive monthly review meetings with stakeholders to align forecast plans based on actual results.
  • Familiarity with integrated business planning (IBP) systems especially demand sensing alerts for short-term changes in market conditions.
  • Leadership skills demonstrated through successful execution of SKU simplification projects or SLOB management initiatives aimed at optimising inventory health.
  • Meticulous attention to detail when maintaining master data such as SKU lifestage or supply chain attributes essential for effective planning.
