What you'll do:

As a Product Specialist operating across Penang, Kedah, and Perlis, you will play an integral role in connecting healthcare professionals with essential products that improve patient outcomes. Your day-to-day activities will involve engaging with doctors, pharmacists, hospital staff, and other key decision-makers to understand their unique challenges and provide tailored solutions. You will organise educational events such as CME sessions to keep clients informed about the latest advancements while maintaining detailed records of your interactions. By gathering valuable market insights and collaborating with your team members, you will help shape strategies that drive both individual success and collective growth. Your ability to empathise with clients’ needs, communicate effectively, and adapt quickly will be crucial in building lasting partnerships throughout your territory.

  • Achieve sales targets for the assigned territory by developing thoughtful strategies that align with organisational goals and customer needs.
  • Cultivate, maintain, and expand strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring their satisfaction through attentive service and regular follow-ups.
  • Organise and conduct Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities to promote assigned products, fostering trust and knowledge among healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain an up-to-date, comprehensive database of physicians, hospitals, and paramedical contacts to ensure effective communication and outreach.
  • Gather and report market intelligence regularly to inform business decisions and adapt strategies based on evolving trends in the healthcare landscape.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to share insights from the field, contributing to communal success and improved service delivery.
  • Provide timely feedback on product performance and customer experiences to support ongoing product development initiatives.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by adapting approaches to meet diverse client requirements across government hospitals, private institutions, and retail pharmacies.
  • Support colleagues by sharing best practices and participating in team meetings aimed at enhancing overall performance.
  • Uphold high standards of ethical conduct in all interactions with clients, partners, and stakeholders.

What you bring:

To excel as a Product Specialist in this dynamic environment, you will bring proven experience from previous roles within pharmaceutical sales—ideally having worked directly with both public sector hospitals and private clinics or pharmacies. Your academic background in science equips you with the technical knowledge needed to engage confidently with medical professionals. Beyond qualifications, your genuine passion for helping others shines through in every interaction; you are known for being dependable, empathetic, and responsive when addressing client concerns. Your ability to listen carefully allows you to tailor solutions that truly meet each customer’s needs. In addition to these core strengths, your attention to detail ensures that all administrative tasks are handled accurately while your collaborative spirit fosters positive relationships both internally among colleagues and externally within your professional network.

  • A bachelor’s degree in any science discipline provides you with a solid foundation for understanding complex medical concepts relevant to this role.
  • At least two years of experience in pharmaceutical sales within government or private hospitals or retail pharmacy settings ensures you are familiar with industry dynamics.
  • A service-oriented mindset enables you to respond flexibly to clients’ needs while maintaining a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills allow you to convey information clearly during presentations or one-on-one discussions with healthcare professionals.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities help you build rapport quickly with diverse stakeholders across multiple levels of the healthcare system.
  • Negotiation skills empower you to reach mutually beneficial agreements that support long-term business relationships.
  • Possession of a valid driving licence along with your own transport ensures you can travel efficiently throughout the Northern Region as required by the role.
  • A keen eye for detail supports your ability to maintain accurate records of contacts and market intelligence reports.
  • Your willingness to participate actively in team-based activities demonstrates your commitment to communal success within the organisation.
