Regional Sales Manager, APAC (Airport Infrastructure Systems)

A global provider of airport infrastructure systems is looking to appoint a Regional Sales Manager, APAC to lead business development and sales activities across the region, excluding China.

This is a newly created regional role designed to strengthen customer proximity, improve tender responsiveness, and develop long-term opportunities across Southeast Asia, Australia/New Zealand, and wider Asia. The successful candidate will represent the business in-market, working closely with airport authorities, consultants, EPCs, contractors, and aviation stakeholders.

This role is best suited for a technically strong sales professional with experience in airport systems, airside infrastructure, baggage handling, airfield lighting, docking/guidance systems, or complex electromechanical project sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities across APAC within airport infrastructure and systems projects.
  • Build and maintain relationships with airport authorities, airport operators, consultants, EPCs, contractors, and government-linked stakeholders.
  • Monitor market developments, upcoming airport projects, and tender opportunities across the region.
  • Analyse tender specifications, identify key technical and commercial risks, and coordinate internal responses.
  • Work with engineering, project, finance, and documentation teams to prepare competitive and compliant proposals.
  • Lead commercial discussions, tender follow-ups, negotiations, and contract award processes.
  • Act as the main regional client contact throughout the sales cycle.
  • Support awarded projects by maintaining close client engagement and identifying further sales opportunities.
  • Identify and assess potential partners, agents, or distributors to strengthen regional coverage.
  • Provide market intelligence to support short-, medium-, and long-term regional sales strategy.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in technical sales, business development, or tender-based sales.
  • Experience selling into airports, aviation authorities, EPCs, consultants, contractors, or infrastructure project stakeholders.
  • Strong technical understanding of engineered systems, electromechanical solutions, or airport-related infrastructure.
  • Comfortable reviewing tender documents, technical specifications, engineering drawings, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage long sales cycles and multi-stakeholder negotiations.
  • Strong regional exposure across Southeast Asia, ANZ, South Asia, or wider APAC.
  • Able to work independently in a remote regional role while collaborating with global teams.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across APAC.

  • Airport automation or apron systems
  • Airport IT or airport operations solutions, if strongly airport-client-facing
  • Heavy electromechanical infrastructure or industrial project sales

Relevant company backgrounds may include airport systems providers, baggage handling companies, airfield technology companies, airport automation providers, ground support equipment companies, or aviation infrastructure solution providers.
