Legal Associate (Family Law /General litigation)

What you'll do:

You will play an integral role in supporting the firm's familiy law & general litigation practice. Your responsibilities include :

• Handle family law matters including divorce, judicial separation, custody, maintenance, matrimonial assets, and related applications.
• Draft and review family-related legal documents, including divorce petitions, affidavits, cause papers, settlement agreements, and consent orders.
• Advise clients on matrimonial and family-related legal issues, including rights, obligations, and available legal remedies.
• Attend client consultations, gather facts, and provide practical legal advice tailored to clients’ circumstances.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediation, and court proceedings where required.
• Conduct legal research and prepare submissions, legal opinions, and case strategies relating to family law matters.
• Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, and relevant parties to manage case progress effectively.

• Handle civil litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, cause papers, submissions, and correspondence.
• Assist with case preparation, court attendance, and litigation strategy.
• Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries and legal opinions.
• Manage files, deadlines, and documentation in accordance with professional standards.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate brings proven experience handling corporate transactions within Malaysia’s regulatory framework. Key requirements :

• Possess an LLB or equivalent legal qualification from a recognised university.
• Admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya (Malaysian Bar).
• Have between 3-5 post-qualification experience (PQE).
• Demonstrate strong drafting abilities coupled with excellent negotiation skills
• Be proactive, detail-oriented, reliable under pressure, and possess strong interpersonal skills
