Legal Consultant / Paralegal

Join our Kuala Lumpur team as a Legal Consultant, supporting global financial institutions on complex commercial contract negotiations. Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritize your own workload to meet deadlines and business objectives.

• Support the drafting, review, negotiation, amendment, and execution of a range of commercial and financial services agreements with clients, counterparties, and internal stakeholders.

• Maintain accurate records of contract negotiations, communications, and key milestones, ensuring appropriate escalation of issues where necessary.

• Assist with reporting, data management, and the provision of information to internal stakeholders and clients.

• Participate in meetings, conference calls, and discussions with clients, counterparties, and colleagues across different teams.

• Monitor relevant legal, regulatory, and industry developments, and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives and continuous professional development activities.

Requirements

• You'll have at least a 2:1 Undergraduate degree in Law or equivalent degree. If your degree is in a different discipline, a legal conversion qualification (Graduate Diploma in Law or the Common Professional Examination) is desirable

• Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career within the legal, compliance, contracts, or financial services sector.

• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional proficiency in English.

• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

• Additional language capabilities, particularly Mandarin, would be an advantage.
