As a Knowledge Management Associate based in Kuala Lumpur, you will immerse yourself in a dynamic environment where your primary focus is on enhancing the firm’s ability to deliver outstanding legal services through strategic knowledge sharing.
- Conduct comprehensive research and develop user-friendly legal knowledge materials such as precedents, know-how documents, guidelines, and articles that support the firm’s lawyers across diverse practice areas.
- Draft, review, and coordinate both internal and external publications including legal updates and thought leadership pieces while liaising with publishers for writing opportunities.
- Collaborate extensively with partners and lawyers on knowledge management materials, thought leadership content, and firm-wide initiatives including those related to artificial intelligence.
- Coordinate the design and delivery of internal training programmes, webinars, and associated learning materials to enhance professional development within the firm.
- Develop and implement robust knowledge management plans, systems, and processes that ensure efficient access to critical information resources.
- Manage the firm’s precedent bank by maintaining up-to-date templates and ensuring their accessibility for all relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain and regularly update the firm’s website while assisting in the management of subscriptions to online research resources.
- Provide knowledge management support for both firm-wide and regional initiatives by collaborating with colleagues across the Asia network.
- Work closely with business services teams such as marketing, business development, administration, and human resources to align knowledge initiatives with broader organisational goals.
To excel as a Knowledge Management Associate, you will bring proven experience from either a law firm or related sector where you have developed strong research skills along with an aptitude for drafting high-quality documents.
- A recognised law degree or equivalent qualification from Malaysia
- At least three years’ experience & Above gained within legal practice, legal information or publications roles, or other related positions that have honed your research abilities.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English which enables you to draft clear documents and communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
- Strong drafting skills paired with meticulous attention to detail when preparing knowledge materials or reviewing publications for accuracy.
- Outstanding research capabilities allowing you to source relevant information quickly and present it in an accessible format for others.
- Well-developed communication skills complemented by an approachable interpersonal style that fosters positive working relationships within teams.
- A collaborative mindset coupled with genuine enthusiasm for working alongside lawyers from diverse backgrounds as well as business services professionals across multiple locations.
- Demonstrated interest in regional legal developments—particularly those affecting South-east Asia and China—that informs your contributions to cross-border projects.
- Keen interest in legal technology advancements including artificial intelligence; prior exposure or willingness to learn about these tools is considered advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams which supports your ability to manage documents efficiently.
