CONFIDENTIAL: Group GC, Legal (O&G)

We are partnering with a leading international offshore energy services group to identify a Group General Counsel to join its senior leadership team. This is a pivotal role advising the Board and executive management on all legal, contractual, compliance and governance matters across a complex, multi-jurisdictional business.

The Role

• Trusted advisor to the Board and CEO on strategic, legal and risk considerations
• Lead counsel on high-value, complex transactions (including long-term contracts, partnerships, M&A and financing)
• Oversee enterprise-wide legal risk, dispute strategy and external counsel management
• Drive and enhance a robust compliance framework (including ABC and sanctions)
• Provide oversight of corporate governance and company secretarial matters for a listed environment
• Lead contract management strategy across the full asset lifecycle
• Build and develop a high-performing, globally dispersed team

Requirements

• Senior legal leader with ~20+ years’ experience in a multinational and/or top-tier law firm
• Strong track record in complex commercial contracting, major projects, and cross-border transactions. Candidates who are equipped with engineering/construction/O&G industry will be viewed favorably
• Experience operating at Board level within a regulated or listed environment
• Deep understanding of compliance frameworks and governance best practices
• Commercially astute, pragmatic and solution-oriented
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive organisational outcomes
