Senior Manager , Legal
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Legal Manager to join a forward-thinking organisation. What you'll do:
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts including Project Deeds, Tender Deeds, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), consultancy agreements, EPC contracts, service contracts, MOUs, NDAs, and other corporate agreements within the group.
- Provide comprehensive legal support during tender processes by preparing and reviewing correspondences, contracts, tender documents, insurance claims, and managing contractual risks effectively.
- Oversee the implementation and management of contracts by drafting policies, handling compliance matters, conducting legal research, and coordinating with external lawyers appointed for various projects.
- Identify key project risks in collaboration with tender teams and develop commercially focused solutions to manage and mitigate these risks efficiently.
- Offer expert legal advice and guidance on all contracts and projects within the region with a particular emphasis on renewable energy initiatives.
- Manage litigation and disputes by systematically documenting cases, liaising with external counsel, and adopting strategies that protect organisational interests while maintaining commercial sensibility.
- Support internal approval processes through drafting detailed legal memos, attending project review meetings, and ensuring strict adherence to company policies.
- Oversee corporate exercises such as share issuances (ordinary/preference), mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and other equity or corporate transactions to ensure alignment with company constitution and applicable laws.
- Prepare, review, and advise on board papers and directors’ resolutions; attend directors’ meetings to provide timely legal and governance guidance while delivering monthly updates to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Promote knowledge sharing within the legal function by ensuring adequate reporting mechanisms are in place for continuous learning.
What you bring:
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution which underpins your strong foundation in legal principles relevant to this role.
- Demonstrate at least 8-10 years’ experience working either as an in-house Legal Counsel or within a reputable law firm focusing on construction, infrastructure or energy projects.
- Showcase substantial exposure to Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), equipment leasing agreements, rooftop leasing arrangements, joint venture agreements as well as tender submissions within large-scale projects.
- Exhibit excellent skills in legal drafting coupled with advanced negotiation abilities that enable you to communicate complex concepts clearly across all levels of an organisation.
- Display high levels of professionalism alongside strong interpersonal communication skills which foster trust among colleagues and stakeholders alike.
- Bring proven capabilities in risk assessment combined with pragmatic problem-solving approaches that balance commercial objectives with sound legal judgement.
- Possess international or regional exposure which enhances your understanding of cross-border transactions or multi-jurisdictional issues—an advantage for this position.
- Demonstrate resilience along with meticulous attention to detail which ensures accuracy across all aspects of your work while maintaining composure under pressure.
