Legal Counsel

What you’ll do

As part of the Group’s legal team, you’ll partner closely with senior legal and business stakeholders to deliver pragmatic, business‑focused legal support. Your key accountabilities include:

• Advising on global procurement and commercial contracting, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating goods & services agreements across jurisdictions
• Partnering with colleagues across upstream, customers & products, treasury and corporate teams on advisory and transactional matters
• Managing legal escalations and coordinating seamlessly with other lawyers globally
• Driving standardisation and continuous improvement from contract templates and playbooks to workflows, data and training
• Supporting the Group’s legal transformation agenda, including digitalisation, innovation and shared services excellence
• Delivering training and guidance to business teams
• Contributing to high‑value, business‑critical projects with global visibility

Key Requirements

You’re a commercially savvy lawyer who thrives in a collaborative, fast‑moving environment and enjoys improving how things are done.

You bring:

• 3–10 years PQE as a commercial lawyer (law firm or in‑house)
• Qualification in Malaysia, UK, Australia, US or another major jurisdiction
• Strong experience in cross‑border commercial contracts. Candidates who are equipped with oil & gas, treasury / shared legal services work experience will be viewed favorably
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills
• A continuous‑improvement mindset with sound judgment and high integrity
• Cultural awareness and emotional intelligence to succeed in a global organisation
