Legal Associate (In-house)

You will play an integral role in supporting the organisation’s ambitious expansion plans by providing expert assistance across a wide range of legal functions.
- Assist with acquisition, financing or fund-raising exercises from inception through closing by evaluating transaction structures, conducting research on transactional matters, fulfilling conditions precedent, preparing completion checklists, drafting deliverables, and liaising with external lawyers.
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, agreements, documents, policies and procedures while actively participating in negotiations to ensure compliance and protect organisational interests.
- Maintain group legal governance standards by managing documentation control for both transaction-related and advisory matters to uphold best practices across the department.
- Support the Legal Counsel in all aspects of contract administration including records keeping and documentation filing to ensure seamless operations within the legal team.
- Provide legal advice by evaluating business activities and operational matters such as commercial agreements, employment law issues, and compliance risks under the guidance of the Legal Counsel.
- Manage the company’s trademark portfolio and other intellectual property matters including renewals, filings, and coordination with external IP agents to safeguard valuable assets.
- Monitor litigation and dispute cases by assisting the Legal Counsel in handling ongoing proceedings and ensuring timely updates on case progress.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across departments to facilitate smooth communication regarding legal requirements and risk assessments.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support decision-making processes related to transactions or advisory matters within the organisation.
- Contribute proactively to maintaining high standards of document accuracy and confidentiality throughout all legal processes.
What you bring:
To succeed as a Legal Associate, you will bring solid experience gained either in private practice or an in-house legal role.
- LLB holder with 3–6 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in a law firm or in-house corporate environment, bringing practical expertise in M&A, banking & finance, or debt/equity capital markets.
- Proven experience in legal advisory work, enabling you to provide insightful guidance on complex business matters.
- Meticulous and detail-oriented, with excellent time management skills to ensure accuracy even under tight deadlines.
- Adaptable and eager to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-player mindset combined with strong communication skills to foster effective collaboration within the department.
- Resourceful and capable of working independently when needed.
- Strong research and analytical abilities to support informed decision-making.
