Dispute Resolution and Litigation Associate

An exciting opportunity to join an international dispute resolution and litigation team supporting its KL office. The practice advises on a broad range of contentious matters across multiple sectors, providing strategic and commercial guidance on dispute avoidance and resolution through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and court proceedings. The cross-border team handles significant private and public sector disputes, including business-critical and high-stakes matters.

What you will be doing

• Advising in relation to and representing clients in commercial litigation matters, whether through litigation, arbitration or alternative dispute resolution. The work types shall include, but not be limited to corporate, contractual, commercial, oil and gas, technology, employment, banking and finance and real estate disputes, professional negligence, injunctions, reputation management work and contentious insolvency matters. Our work often has an international focus, not just in Malaysia but across the world.
• Expanding our provision of commercial litigation services.
• Building and maintaining effective relationships with clients and market intermediaries.
• Leading and proactive participation in individual, team and office-based business development initiatives.
• Participation in firm-wide and departmental meetings, training sessions and social events.
• Delegating client work effectively to junior fee-earners as appropriate.
• Contributing effectively to department and firm wide performance goals.

What You Will Need

• 2–3 years post-qualification experience gained at a reputable law firm.
• Experience handling a broad range of commercial litigation matters.
• Proven ability to take ownership of matters and manage cases with appropriate supervision.
• Strong analytical, drafting, and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility, positivity, and the ability to work effectively within a close-knit team.
• A genuine interest in business development and building client relationships through networking, presentations, thought leadership, and other initiatives.
• Fluent in English; additional language skills would be advantageous.
• Excellent academic record.
