Legal Consultant (Banking & Finance)

Legal Consultant (Corporate Banking) | Kuala Lumpur A leading alternative legal services provider is seeking a Legal Consultant with corporate banking experience to support global banking clients. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with in-house legal teams on outsourced legal matters while managing banking transactions and providing practical legal support.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and advise on loan documentation, including facility agreements, security documents, and transaction-related documents.
• Support loan transactions from inception to completion, working closely with deal teams and stakeholders.
• Advise on amendments to facility letters, board resolutions, corporate guarantees, and corporate authorisation documents.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards.
• Collaborate with client legal teams to provide practical solutions to day-to-day legal matters.
• Manage multiple matters simultaneously while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

Requirements

• Law degree with 1–4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in corporate banking, including drafting, reviewing, or negotiating loan and security documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with syndicated and bilateral loan transactions is preferred.
• Exposure to APLMA documentation will be an added advantage.
