A leading multinational manufacturing organisation in Penang is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join their onsite team.

What you'll do:

As an HRBP in Penang’s thriving manufacturing sector, you will support the execution of human capital strategies by aligning HR initiatives with business needs. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include collaborating with managers to drive workforce planning efforts while ensuring consistent application of policies across the organisation. You will coach managers on people strategies that enhance morale and performance while facilitating workforce development programmes tailored to organisational needs.

By leveraging data-driven insights from HR analytics systems, you will translate metrics into actionable strategies that support business goals. Your role also involves supporting change management projects aimed at improving organisational effectiveness as well as assisting in investigations into employee concerns. Success in this position requires fostering an inclusive environment where every employee feels valued while collaborating closely with both internal teams and external partners.

  • Provide HR support across competency development, succession planning, talent management, labour relations, employment law compliance, employee relations, employee engagement, change management, and process improvement.
  • Coach and consult with managers on matters affecting morale, performance, development, and organisational effectiveness by identifying root causes and recommending appropriate next steps.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures by consulting with managers to promote equal and fair treatment for all employees.
  • Partner with HR Centres of Excellence to address client group requirements effectively and align HR initiatives with business objectives.
  • Present or facilitate workforce development programmes that enhance skills and build organisational capability.
  • Support communication on performance management tools and processes as well as compensation and rewards programmes to ensure clarity and transparency.
  • Assist in change management initiatives with client group leaders to address issues that improve overall performance and strengthen human capital capability.
  • Conduct initial investigations into complaints or concerns; assess severity and involve relevant stakeholders for resolution based on policy guidelines.
  • Leverage HR analytics insights to inform decision-making processes that positively impact business outcomes.

What you bring:

Your experience as an HR professional enables you to bring valuable expertise in supporting strategic HR initiatives within multinational manufacturing organisations. You possess knowledge of workforce planning methodologies combined with strong interpersonal skills that allow you to connect meaningfully with both managers and employees. Your familiarity with HR analytics ensures you can make informed decisions that drive business results while supporting inclusive practices throughout the organisation.

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Management, Business Administration or any relevant field is required for this role.
  • At least 5–8 years of experience in Human Resources with a minimum of 3 years in an HR Business Partner or similar capacity within multinational manufacturing environments.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with leadership teams to support workforce planning initiatives and talent strategies.
  • Strong background in employee relations including coaching managers on people strategies that promote engagement and positive workplace culture.
  • Demonstrated success implementing HR initiatives aligned with business objectives while maintaining compliance with employment laws.
  • Skilled in utilising data-driven decision-making approaches through HR analytics systems.
  • Familiarity with modern HR systems/tools along with the ability to translate metrics into actionable strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Experience supporting change management projects that enhance organisational culture.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling effective communication across all levels of the organisation as well as external partners.
