What you'll do:
As Compensation and Benefits Manager based in Kuala Lumpur, you will be responsible for overseeing comprehensive HR operations spanning Malaysia and Singapore. Your day-to-day activities will involve advising managers on complex employee relations matters while maintaining strict confidentiality. You will manage payroll processes with precision to ensure compliance with local statutory requirements. In addition to handling HR administration tasks such as contracts management and onboarding/offboarding procedures, you will drive employee engagement through innovative initiatives that promote retention. You will lead performance management cycles from goal-setting to development planning while coaching managers on effective feedback techniques. Your analytical mindset will help identify trends in performance data for ongoing improvement. By collaborating closely with stakeholders at all levels—including country leadership teams, function managers, regional colleagues—and external partners like service vendors or government bodies—you will contribute significantly to building a high-performance culture rooted in inclusivity.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers on employee relations, performance issues, organisational changes, and workforce planning across Malaysia and Singapore.
- Provide sound counsel on people-related matters while ensuring strict adherence to company policies, local labour laws, and best practices.
- Manage confidential information with absolute discretion and professionalism in all HR activities.
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processes for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with statutory requirements such as CPF, EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB.
- Maintain and audit HRIS/employee records to ensure data integrity, security, and regulatory compliance at all times.
- Administer HR administration including contracts, onboarding/offboarding procedures, benefits management, and leave tracking.
- Design and implement employee engagement initiatives, communication plans, and recognition programmes to strengthen experience and retention.
- Conduct pulse surveys and action planning; track engagement metrics and follow through on improvements to support DEI and well-being initiatives.
- Lead the performance review cycle including goal-setting sessions, mid-year reviews, calibration meetings, development planning activities.
- Coach managers on feedback delivery, documentation standards, progressive performance conversations; analyse performance data for continuous improvement.

Bilingual proficiency enables you to connect effectively with colleagues across Malaysia and Singapore. - Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration or related field is required for this position.
- 5–8 years of progressive HR generalist or HR business partnering experience covering payroll administration, employee engagement strategies, performance management cycles, recruitment processes, learning & development programmes.
- Strong advisory skills demonstrated by experience counselling managers on employee relations issues and performance challenges within multi-country environments.
- In-depth knowledge of Malaysian and Singaporean employment legislation as well as payroll compliance requirements; familiarity with HR operational best practices is essential.
- Excellent stakeholder management abilities combined with outstanding communication skills that enable you to influence across all organisational levels.
- High integrity proven by your ability to handle confidential information discreetly; professionalism is paramount in every interaction.
- Analytical mindset supported by experience using HRIS systems (such as SAP SuccessFactors) or HR analytics tools to inform decision-making processes.
- Bilingual proficiency: English AND one local language (Malay or Mandarin) is mandatory for effective communication across diverse teams.
- Based in Kuala Lumpur with willingness to work onsite; flexibility to travel locally or to Singapore as needed for business requirements.
