What you'll do:
As Head of Human Resources in Johor, you will be instrumental in developing the HR function for a new operation. Your daily responsibilities will include partnering with global headquarters to craft people strategies that drive organisational success. You will design policies that reflect both business needs and regulatory requirements while fostering an environment where employees feel valued and supported. Talent acquisition will be central to your role; you will lead recruitment efforts for technical positions by collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners. Building strong relationships across universities and industry networks will help establish a robust employer brand. You will also oversee performance management processes to ensure continuous improvement in employee engagement. Administrative duties such as compliance management, office administration coordination, IT support oversight, travel logistics arrangement for staff or visitors, as well as supporting corporate events or HR projects will round out your responsibilities. - Lead end-to-end recruitment activities including sourcing candidates, screening applications, coordinating interviews, managing offers, and facilitating onboarding processes.
- Work collaboratively with both headquarters leaders and local managers to identify manpower requirements and hiring priorities for engineering talent and manufacturing technicians.
- Develop effective recruitment strategies by leveraging job portals, networking events, referrals, social media platforms, and industry connections to build strong candidate pipelines.
- Build the employer brand in Malaysia through partnerships with universities, TVET institutions, recruitment partners, and industry communities.
- Monitor recruitment metrics to continuously improve hiring efficiency and reduce time-to-fill for critical roles.
- Coordinate performance management processes while executing employee engagement and retention initiatives to enhance workforce stability and morale.
What you bring:
The ideal Head of Human Resources brings extensive experience from the manufacturing sector along with a solid academic foundation in human resources or business administration.
