Senior HR Manager (JB - Mandarin Speaker)
* A strategic and hands-on HR leader responsible for driving end-to-end Human Resources and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) functions. This role partners closely with leadership to strengthen workforce capability, ensure regulatory compliance, enhance employee engagement, and support business growth through effective people strategies and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and oversee all HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation & benefits, training, and development
- Align HR strategies with business objectives to drive organizational effectiveness and cost optimization
- Serve as a trusted advisor to management on HR, legal, and workforce matters
- Ensure full compliance with local labor laws and corporate policies
2. Talent Management & Development
- Design and implement recruitment strategies, including management of local and foreign workforce hiring
- Develop and execute training, leadership development, and talent pipeline programs
- Build and manage internal talent inventory and succession planning initiatives
3. Employee Engagement & Culture
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance work environment
- Implement structured communication platforms and engagement initiatives
- Lead performance management and salary review processes to ensure fairness and competitiveness
4. HR Operations & Compliance
- Oversee payroll accuracy, headcount reporting, and HR administrative processes
- Ensure adherence to CSR and Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) standards, including hostel management
- Maintain strong relationships with government bodies, regulators, and external stakeholders
5. EHS & Corporate Compliance
- Lead EHS programs and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 standards
- Drive safety initiatives and environmental protection practices across operations
- Support security, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance activities
6. Stakeholder & Global Coordination
- Collaborate with global HR teams on key initiatives and policy alignment
- Keep leadership updated on labor law changes and workforce trends
- Support audits, including RBA and external compliance assessments
Key Requirements
Experience & Education
- Degree in Human Resources or related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of HR experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record in recruitment, employee development, and HR program implementation
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities
- In-depth knowledge of Malaysian labor laws and practices
- Experience with RBA standards, audits, and foreign workforce management
- Familiarity with HR metrics, payroll processes, and basic financial concepts
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin
