What you'll do:

As a Human Resources Business Partner in Penang, you will play a central role in supporting business leaders and employees throughout the Malaysia offices. Your daily responsibilities will involve acting as the main HR contact for staff members—ensuring their needs are met from onboarding through offboarding. You will facilitate seamless transitions for new hires by organising orientation sessions and managing benefit enrolments while also overseeing exit procedures for departing colleagues. Employee relations will be entrusted to you; your ability to handle sensitive matters with empathy and discretion will be crucial. Maintaining accurate records in the HRIS system is essential for compliance purposes. Building strong relationships with People Leaders is key; your coaching skills will help them navigate leadership challenges and foster positive team dynamics. You will partner closely with regional leadership on workforce planning projects that shape organisational structure. Supporting various HR initiatives—including compensation reviews and engagement surveys—will allow you to contribute meaningfully to overall employee satisfaction. Collaboration with Talent Acquisition ensures effective recruitment planning and internal mobility opportunities. Success in this role requires a commitment to nurturing talent, promoting inclusivity, and driving continuous improvement across all people functions.

  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for all employees in the Malaysia offices, ensuring consistent support across the region.
  • Administer onboarding programmes for new hires by coordinating logistics, facilitating orientation sessions, managing system access, and overseeing benefit enrolment timelines to guarantee a smooth transition.
  • Manage offboarding processes for departing employees including conducting exit interviews, coordinating separation logistics, and capturing insights to inform future retention efforts.
  • Own employee relations matters end-to-end by conducting investigations, documenting findings, making recommendations, and managing risk appropriately while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Lead the performance management cycle by guiding goal-setting activities, facilitating mid-year check-ins, supporting year-end calibration processes, and managing performance improvement plans when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate files and clean data within the HRIS system to ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
  • Build trusted relationships with People Leaders by providing coaching and advisory support on leadership development, team dynamics, feedback delivery, and handling difficult conversations.
  • Partner with the Regional HR Director on workforce planning, headcount modelling, and organisational design for assigned client groups to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Support HR initiatives such as compensation reviews, performance check-ins, engagement surveys, and ensure compliance with employment laws for the region.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition on headcount planning, role scoping, internal mobility opportunities, recruitment planning, and talent acquisition.
