What you'll do:

As a Senior Sales Specialist – Medical Devices based in Kuching, you will be instrumental in expanding access to cutting-edge therapies that transform patient outcomes. Your day-to-day activities will involve building trusted partnerships with hospitals and clinics throughout the region, understanding their unique challenges, and delivering tailored solutions that address both clinical needs and operational goals. You will serve as a key resource for healthcare professionals by providing expert guidance on peritoneal dialysis practices, conducting impactful training sessions, and ensuring seamless adoption of new technologies. By closely monitoring centre performance data and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams—including marketing, HR, finance, and more—you will help drive continuous improvement initiatives that benefit both patients and care teams. Your ability to stay informed about industry developments will enable you to maintain competitive positioning while always prioritising safety, compliance, and ethical conduct. Success in this role means not only achieving ambitious sales objectives but also fostering long-term relationships built on trust, empathy, and shared commitment to better health outcomes.

  • Achieve sales targets by engaging directly with hospitals and healthcare providers to promote and sell advanced medical devices and related services.
  • Identify, approach, and build relationships with both existing and prospective customers to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions that enhance patient care.
  • Provide expert counselling and hands-on training for healthcare personnel, patients, and caregivers to ensure best practices in peritoneal dialysis are maintained across all accounts.
  • Offer on-call technical support for automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) patients, troubleshooting issues promptly to maintain high standards of therapy delivery.
  • Maintain comprehensive databases for assigned centres, tracking patient retention, therapy duration, and implementing strategies to optimise time on therapy for key accounts.
  • Organise and lead hospital-based continuing medical education (CME) sessions as a speaker, delivering product training to healthcare professionals to deepen their knowledge of therapies.
  • Monitor clinical parameters at designated peritoneal dialysis centres, collaborating with healthcare professionals to identify areas for improvement and develop targeted programmes.
  • Utilise deep product knowledge to differentiate offerings from competitors during discussions with clients, addressing technical queries and providing live demonstrations as needed.
  • Track monthly sales performance against forecasts, contribute insights into market potential within your territory, and adapt strategies based on industry trends and competitor activity.
  • Ensure timely submission of all required reports while upholding the highest standards of compliance with internal policies, legal obligations, and pharmacovigilance requirements.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Sales Specialist – Medical Devices position brings substantial experience working within hospital environments—particularly those focused on nephrology or chronic disease management. Your background should reflect not only technical proficiency but also genuine empathy for patients’ needs coupled with an ability to communicate complex information clearly during training sessions or product demonstrations. You excel at building rapport with clinicians while remaining responsive to evolving industry trends that shape therapeutic approaches. Your attention to detail ensures accurate record-keeping while your adaptability allows you to thrive amid changing priorities or unexpected challenges. A collaborative spirit is essential as you will frequently interact with cross-functional teams both internally and externally; your willingness to share knowledge contributes positively towards collective goals. Above all else, your sense of responsibility drives you toward continuous self-improvement—ensuring every action taken supports safer therapies and better patient experiences.

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience managing hospital accounts or providing clinical support within nephrology or related medical fields is essential for success in this position.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage a territory or region while maintaining close collaboration with internal stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Possession of a valid driving licence along with access to your own vehicle is required due to frequent travel demands within urban and remote areas.
  • Proven track record of consistent high-quality performance in meeting or exceeding targets through diligent effort and responsible work practices.
  • Experience delivering CME sessions or product training workshops for healthcare professionals is highly desirable for this role.
  • A degree in science, pharmacy, nursing or an equivalent discipline is preferred; candidates with relevant practical experience are also encouraged to apply.
  • Willingness to travel regularly—including visits to remote locations—and attend meetings or conferences as part of ongoing professional development is necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams including marketing, HR, finance as well as external partners such as clinicians or administrators.
  • Strong organisational abilities allowing you to manage complex schedules, maintain accurate records, submit timely reports, and respond quickly to emerging needs within your territory.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards by adhering strictly to company policies regarding compliance, safety reporting (pharmacovigilance), and positive relationship-building.
