The successful candidate will be entrusted with the stewardship of the entire quality framework within a substantial manufacturing enterprise. What you'll do:

In the capacity of Head of Quality, Malaysia, you will play an instrumental role in advancing manufacturing excellence at this Penang-based establishment. Your daily undertakings will encompass leading a committed team to execute strategic initiatives that elevate quality performance across all operational domains. You will advocate for transparency in reporting critical metrics including defect rates, yield improvements, complaint management, audit achievements, and overall system compliance. By collaborating with cross-functional groups—including sourcing partners—you will optimise supplier performance in alignment with business imperatives. Success in this role necessitates fostering a collaborative culture oriented towards continuous improvement, technical mastery, and collective accountability for attaining world-class standards.

  • Formulate and implement a holistic site-wide quality strategy that aligns with global objectives and supports continuous improvement throughout all departments.
  • Guide the quality team by nurturing engagement, collaboration, and technical proficiency to fulfil both business and customer requirements.
  • Instil a quality-first ethos across the factory by advocating transparency, accountability, and systemic enhancements at every stage of production.
  • Maintain ownership of the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure strict compliance with ISO standards as well as customer audit expectations.
  • Promote defect reduction, yield enhancement, cost of poor quality (COPQ) mitigation, complaint resolution, and performance clarity through rigorous KPI governance.
  • Address executive-level customer escalations promptly by devising sustainable solutions informed by voice-of-customer feedback.
  • Collaborate closely with Strategic Sourcing to fortify supplier capability and performance through shared objectives and mutual support.
  • Apply root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies such as 8D to resolve intricate issues efficiently while upholding operational excellence.
  • Cultivate organisational culture by developing high-performing teams that are technically adept, motivated, and dedicated to delivering exemplary results.
  • Ensure harmonisation across incoming, in-process, and outgoing quality processes so as to consistently fulfil or surpass customer expectations.

To thrive as Head of Quality, Malaysia in this transformative leadership position, you must possess extensive experience acquired from senior appointments within semiconductor or precision manufacturing sectors. Your professional history should evidence successful execution of complex transformation projects that have restored key performance metrics whilst promoting engagement among large teams. You will require refined interpersonal abilities to manage stakeholder relationships—particularly during customer escalations—and an aptitude for embedding best practices throughout the organisation.   • A minimum of fifteen years’ demonstrable experience in senior quality leadership roles within semiconductor environments is requisite for this appointment.

  • Exceptional customer relationship management skills are essential for establishing trust with principal stakeholders and addressing escalations judiciously.
  • Expertise in administering end-to-end quality systems including QMS stewardship, ISO compliance, audit preparation, and process synchronisation is indispensable.
  • Experience in deploying advanced problem-solving techniques such as root cause analysis (RCA) and 8D within operational contexts is highly regarded.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively with sourcing teams to augment supplier capability through shared objectives and reciprocal support is important.
  • Preferred qualifications include Lean Manufacturing or Operational Excellence certifications which attest to a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Lead Auditor credentials are advantageous for those aspiring to excel in audit performance within major semiconductor equipment OEM settings.
