- Oversee the end-to-end coordination of electrical, mechanical, controls, and CAD engineering teams to deliver complete and accurate drawing packages for advanced modular solutions.
- Foster a supportive and collaborative culture by mentoring engineers and working closely with cross-functional teams including supply chain, production supervisors, quality engineers, and project managers.
- Play a key role in risk identification and mitigation throughout the production lifecycle, ensuring all milestones are met with precision while upholding the highest standards of safety and manufacturability.
What you'll do:
As a Lead Engineer – Factory Production based in Petaling Jaya you will play a central role in orchestrating the successful execution of complex engineering projects within a supportive team environment. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams as you guide them through every stage of the production process—from initial work order release through final testing validation packaging dispatch. You will be responsible for ensuring that all technical documentation is meticulously prepared reviewed validated so that each project meets stringent quality standards aligns perfectly with customer expectations. By proactively identifying resolving technical challenges allocating resources effectively conducting readiness reviews validating vendor compliance facilitating knowledge sharing sessions you will help create an atmosphere where everyone feels empowered supported valued.
- Coordinate electrical, mechanical, controls, and CAD engineering teams to ensure timely delivery of comprehensive IFC drawing packages covering single-line diagrams, general arrangement layouts, wiring schematics, HVAC/CFD layouts, grounding systems, fire protection systems, and network architecture.
- Review and validate Sequence of Operations documentation for power distribution, cooling systems, and controls to guarantee alignment with solution architecture requirements and customer specifications within factory integration constraints.
- Oversee the preparation of commissioning documentation such as Factory Acceptance Test scripts, test procedures, load-bank plans, protection coordination files, and integrated system validation steps to ensure thorough readiness for deployment.
- Resolve technical clashes early in the process by addressing issues like cable routing congestion, structural capacity limitations on skids, clearances for uninterruptible power supplies or batteries, busbar interfaces, and programmable logic controller or supervisory control and data acquisition points lists.
- Conduct detailed reviews of design packages across electrical, mechanical, and controls disciplines to ensure production teams have a clear understanding of build requirements before commencing work.
- Lead build readiness reviews with production staff, quality assurance personnel, health safety environment officers, and supply chain teams to confirm all materials, drawings, jigs, and procedures are released prior to production start.
- Validate vendor-supplied equipment documentation and drawings for compliance with interface requirements and serviceability standards to maintain seamless integration into factory workflows.
- Allocate engineering resources efficiently by adjusting workloads according to build milestones and factory throughput targets while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Identify potential risks related to design gaps, manufacturing challenges such as long lead items or thermal limits, integration delays or commissioning complexities early in the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate post-project reviews aimed at capturing lessons learned to drive improvements in manufacturability awareness, reliability enhancement initiatives, cost performance optimisation strategies as well as coaching engineers towards greater expertise.
What you bring:
To excel as a Lead Engineer – Factory Production you will bring not only robust academic credentials but also substantial hands-on experience gained from overseeing complex manufacturing operations. Your background should include direct involvement with prefabricated modules data centre infrastructure or related industrial systems where your ability to interpret technical drawings manage resource allocation resolve integration challenges has been thoroughly tested.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) is required providing you with a solid foundation in core technical principles relevant to factory production environments.
- Approximately 5 years’ experience in a lead engineer role within factory operations or manufacturing settings involving electrical or mechanical assemblies equips you with practical insights into industry best practices.
- Experience managing production work for prefabricated modules data centre equipment power distribution units or similar industrial systems is highly desirable as it demonstrates your familiarity with specialised products processes.
- Comprehensive understanding of low voltage electrical power systems mechanical assemblies cooling technologies integrated modular solutions enables you to address diverse technical challenges confidently.
- Proven ability to coordinate material readiness production scheduling resource planning cross-functional collaboration ensures smooth workflow continuity even under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated expertise in reviewing technical drawings bills of materials for both electrical mechanical assemblies allows you to identify discrepancies optimise designs enhance manufacturability outcomes.
- Hands-on experience leading Factory Acceptance Tests preparing associated documentation highlights your attention detail commitment thoroughness during critical project phases.
