This role offers you the opportunity to work closely with a knowledgeable and supportive engineering group, where your expertise will be valued and your contributions will directly impact test development and optimisation activities. You will enjoy flexible working opportunities, access to ongoing training, and the chance to collaborate across multi-site teams. If you are passionate about improving test efficiency and coverage, and thrive in an inclusive environment that encourages sharing of best practices, this position is designed for you.

  • Work alongside a highly experienced engineering team dedicated to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing, ensuring you are supported throughout your career journey.
  • Enjoy flexible working arrangements that allow you to balance professional growth with personal commitments, fostering a pleasant and inclusive workplace.
  • Benefit from extensive training opportunities and mentoring programmes that empower you to develop new skills and advance within the organisation.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Test Engineer based in Penang or Ipoh, you will play a pivotal role in developing robust test solutions that validate products at every stage. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with fellow engineers to analyse complex data sets, troubleshoot automated test equipment (ATE), document procedures meticulously, and drive improvements that reduce testing times without compromising quality. You will also contribute your expertise to hardware design projects—such as probe cards and load boards—and apply advanced statistical techniques to optimise yield. By mentoring junior colleagues and sharing best practices across sites, you will help foster an inclusive culture of learning and support. Success in this role requires a commitment to teamwork, attention to detail in documentation and reporting, proactive engagement in continuous improvement initiatives, and a passion for nurturing communal growth within the engineering department.

  • Lead the development and debugging of test programmes for product validation and characterisation, ensuring comprehensive coverage and reliability.
  • Perform detailed data analysis of test results to identify failure modes, trends, and opportunities for optimising testing processes.
  • Take ownership of test hardware setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated test equipment (ATE), guaranteeing dependable operation.
  • Document test procedures, specifications, and generate technical reports on test coverage as well as correlation studies for internal stakeholders.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at reducing test time while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability across all products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share insights, mentor junior engineers, and promote best practices throughout multi-site operations.
  • Contribute to probe card and load board design activities, supporting hardware bring-up and correlation studies for both wafer-level (CP) and final test (FT) environments.
  • Apply statistical methods such as PAT, SBL, SYL, GR&R, and yield improvement techniques to enhance overall testing outcomes.
  • Engage in continuous improvement projects focused on increasing efficiency, coverage, and reliability within the testing process.
  • Support communal efforts by participating in team meetings, knowledge-sharing sessions, and collaborative problem-solving initiatives.

What you bring:

The ideal Senior Test Engineer brings proven experience from the semiconductor sector along with deep technical knowledge of automated testing platforms. Your academic background provides a solid foundation for tackling complex challenges while your hands-on skills with ATE systems make you an invaluable asset. You possess advanced programming abilities that facilitate efficient development of test programmes; your familiarity with digital and mixed-signal methodologies ensures comprehensive coverage. Beyond technical prowess, your capacity for statistical analysis enables meaningful improvements in yield. You are committed to sharing knowledge through mentoring junior engineers—helping build a supportive network across multiple locations. Your interpersonal skills allow you to connect easily with others while contributing positively to communal goals. By combining technical excellence with empathy and dependability, you are well-positioned to succeed as a Senior Test Engineer.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field is required for this position.
  • At least five years of experience in test engineering within the semiconductor industry ensures you are equipped for the challenges ahead.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++, Python or other relevant languages enable you to develop effective test solutions.
  • Proficiency with ATE platforms such as Advantest V93K or Teradyne UltraFLEX/FLEX is highly desirable for seamless integration into existing workflows.
  • Deep understanding of ATE methodologies including digital, mixed-signal, and parametric testing allows you to deliver reliable results.
  • Hands-on expertise with Advantest V93K or Teradyne UltraFLEX/FLEX in wafer-level (CP) or final test (FT) environments enhances your ability to contribute immediately.
  • Experience in probe card and load board design as well as hardware bring-up supports successful project execution.
  • Strong statistical background including PAT, SBL, SYL, GR&R, and yield improvement techniques empowers you to optimise testing outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers fosters communal growth across multi-site teams.
