A leading global provider of bakery technology is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their dedicated team in Malaysia.

What you'll do:

As a Field Service Engineer based in Petaling Jaya, you will play a pivotal role in supporting customers across the ASEAN+3 region by ensuring their bakery equipment operates efficiently.

• Conduct thorough inspections, maintenance, and repairs of bakery equipment at customer sites throughout the ASEAN+3 region, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems with precision, providing effective solutions that minimise downtime for customers.
• Prepare detailed service reports after each intervention, clearly documenting findings and defining required spare parts for future reference.
• Deliver on-site technical instructions to customer staff as well as subsidiary teams, fostering understanding and confidence in operating complex machinery.
• Provide comprehensive training sessions for customer personnel and subsidiary staff, sharing your knowledge to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
• Pre-assemble or parameterise assemblies and parts before deployment, ensuring seamless integration into existing systems and minimising installation time.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues across departments to share insights, resolve challenges together, and maintain high standards of service delivery.
• Maintain up-to-date records of all service activities using PC-based tools and ERP systems, contributing to transparent communication within the team.
• Demonstrate flexibility by adapting to diverse environments and customer needs during worldwide travel assignments.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on equipment performance and suggesting enhancements.

What you bring:

To excel as a Field Service Engineer in Petaling Jaya, you bring proven experience from roles involving industrial mechanics or mechatronics—ideally gained through formal apprenticeships or equivalent qualifications.

• Completion of an apprenticeship or formal training as an industrial mechanic, mechatronics technician, electronics technician for industrial engineering or equivalent qualification is essential for this position.
• Written and spoken English language skills at C1 level are required so you can communicate effectively with international teams and customers.
• Proficiency in PC applications such as Microsoft Office is necessary; familiarity with ERP systems is considered advantageous but not mandatory.
• A genuine willingness to learn new technologies coupled with a strong sense of commitment ensures you stay current in a rapidly evolving industry.
• Possession of a valid driving licence enables you to travel independently between customer sites across the region.
• Worldwide willingness to travel is crucial; your enthusiasm for exploring new places helps build lasting relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to deliver clear technical instructions both verbally and in writing supports successful knowledge transfer during onsite visits.
• Experience preparing detailed service reports demonstrates your attention to detail and organisational skills when documenting interventions.
• Capability to pre-assemble or parameterise assemblies shows your practical approach towards optimising installation processes before deployment.
• Interpersonal sensitivity allows you to train staff effectively while fostering trust within multicultural teams.
