What you'll do:
As a Sr. RF Test Engineer based in Penang or Perak, you’ll be at the heart of driving innovative RF test solutions for advanced mixed-signal semiconductor products. Your daily routine will be filled with exciting collaborations alongside design engineers, product specialists, and operations teams—ensuring smooth transitions from new product introduction all the way through mass production. You’ll develop optimised automated test equipment programmes using top-tier platforms such as Advantest V93K RFIM6/RFIM18. By delving into device datasheets and electrical specifications, you’ll shape robust testing methodologies that guarantee exceptional product performance. Your expertise in designing probe schematics will shine during hardware review sessions with multidisciplinary teams. You’ll collect performance data under diverse conditions to set reliable test limits while correlating results against system-level requirements. Supporting RMA verification processes and conducting insightful failure analyses will empower you to implement corrective actions that elevate overall test quality. You’ll also uncover ways to reduce testing costs and enhance yields by investigating QA failures, analysing escapes, documenting best practices—and sharing your expertise across the Asia Hub network. - Take charge of developing radio frequency test solutions for new product introduction programmes—guiding projects from early sample stages right through to mass production release across cutting-edge mixed-signal and wireless product lines.
- Work closely with design, product engineering, and operations teams to achieve key milestones throughout the final production release process, ensuring seamless collaboration at every stage.
- Create and optimise automated test equipment programmes and hardware for both production and characterisation testing using industry-leading platforms like Advantest V93K RFIM6/RFIM18 as well as other rack-and-stack RF test systems.
- Interpret electrical specifications from device datasheets to craft detailed automated test equipment plans while continuously enhancing methodologies for radio frequency testing.
- Design probe and final test schematics; actively participate in hardware review meetings with cross-functional teams to ensure robust test solutions are delivered.
- Gather and analyse device performance data, establish test limits through temperature characterisation, correlate parameters against system-level performance metrics, and conduct thorough production GR&R analyses.
- Support return material authorisation verification processes and failure analysis activities; implement corrective actions that boost quality and coverage of radio frequency tests.
- Identify opportunities for reducing test time and cost; contribute to yield improvement initiatives including quality assurance failure investigations, escape analysis, and documentation of best practices.
- Serve as a go-to knowledge resource for developing radio frequency capabilities across the Asia Hub region spanning Malaysia and Taiwan.

You’re deeply familiar with radio frequency fundamentals including S-parameters, RSSI measurements, noise figures (SNR), error vector magnitude (EVM), adjacent channel leakage ratio (ACLR), as well as mixed-signal testing concepts. Your analytical prowess allows you to perform rigorous statistical analyses that inform yield improvement strategies while your meticulous approach ensures all aspects of testing meet stringent quality requirements. As someone who flourishes in collaborative settings across multiple locations—including Malaysia and Taiwan—you demonstrate excellent interpersonal abilities that nurture productive teamwork. - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent qualification is required for this position.
- At least five years of proven experience in radio frequency test engineering within the semiconductor industry is essential.
- Demonstrated proficiency in developing automated radio frequency test programmes and hardware for platforms such as Advantest V93K RFIM6/RFIM18 or similar systems.
- Ability to interpret complex hardware schematics, datasheet parameters, and device specifications related to radio frequency components.
- Comprehensive understanding of radio frequency testing methodology including debugging approaches, fundamentals such as S-parameters, RSSI, SNR noise figure, EVM, ACLR as well as mixed-signal testing principles.
- Strong skills in statistical analysis techniques for interpreting data trends that drive yield improvements in semiconductor manufacturing environments.
- Excellent attention to detail coupled with effective problem-solving abilities; must be able to identify issues quickly while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
- Team-oriented mindset with proven ability to collaborate effectively within multi-site cross-functional environments spanning Malaysia and Taiwan.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in English is preferred for clear documentation and reporting purposes.
