A leading solutions provider in Shah Alam is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their project department. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to bring your expertise in mechanical engineering and site management to a role that values your technical skills, organisational abilities, and commitment to quality. You will be part of a supportive team environment where your contributions are recognised and your professional growth is encouraged.

What You’ll Do:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer based in Shah Alam, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing complex projects from inception to completion. This includes not only supervising on-site activities but also contributing to the design and planning phases of mechanical systems. Your responsibilities will span across team organization, site supervision, stakeholder coordination, and ensuring compliance with stringent quality and safety standards.

You will act as a key liaison between clients, consultants, sub-contractors, and local authorities—facilitating clear communication while upholding safety protocols. Your ability to manage multiple stakeholders and technical aspects of the project will be essential as you conduct inspections, prepare detailed reports for management review, support claims preparation, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Planning: Contribute to the design and development of mechanical systems such as HVAC, gas systems, and other MEP components to meet project specifications.
  • Team Organization: Assign responsibilities to supporting personnel effectively, ensuring all work activities are performed efficiently and collaboratively.
  • Site Supervision: Oversee site operations closely, arranging site works and coordinating various activities at the construction site to maintain smooth progress.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track work progress meticulously, assisting sub-contractors in adhering to schedules while ensuring all tasks conform to required specifications.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Attend meetings regularly and liaise with clients, consultants, and local authorities to ensure seamless communication throughout each project phase.
  • Inspections & Quality Assurance: Conduct joint inspections alongside client or consultant representatives to verify that completed works meet agreed standards and requirements.
  • Personnel Management: Oversee all personnel functions related to sub-contractors and workers at the construction site, promoting positive morale and discipline within the team.
  • Material Verification: Monitor delivery of construction materials carefully, verifying that quality, type, and dimensions align with specified requirements before use.
  • Safety Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to site safety and health requirements at all times, fostering a safe working environment for everyone involved.
  • Reporting & Claims Support: Prepare detailed progress reports for management review and assist the Project Manager with claims preparation for clients/consultants.

What You Bring:

The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced mechanical engineer with a strong background in both design and project execution within construction or industrial settings. You should have hands-on experience managing teams, supervising sites, engaging stakeholders, and delivering high-quality results on time. Familiarity with cleanroom environments is highly desirable for handling specialised assignments.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification that demonstrates your foundational knowledge in the field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience within mechanical engineering roles—preferably involving design work, project supervision, or construction site management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications as well as AutoCAD software for effective planning, design documentation, and task execution.
  • Prior experience working within cleanroom environments is an added advantage for handling specialised projects.
  • High levels of integrity combined with a results-oriented approach that ensures objectives are met responsibly.
  • Ability to work dependably under minimal supervision while maintaining accountability for assigned tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that enable you to communicate clearly with colleagues at all levels—including clients and external partners.
  • Willingness to travel both domestically (outstation) and internationally when required by project demands.
