What you'll do:

As an Equities Manager, you’ll dive headfirst into the exciting world of equity investments—analysing sectors and individual stocks with enthusiasm while staying connected with industry leaders through regular company visits and briefings. Your days will be filled with producing insightful research reports that shape strategic decisions across the business. You’ll keep your finger on the pulse by monitoring assigned stocks so recommendations are always based on the freshest data. Beyond analysis, you’ll collaborate joyfully with client services teams to provide tailored insights, support internal reporting needs, craft compelling marketing materials when required, and spark lively discussions during team meetings. Your ability to communicate complex ideas clearly will help everyone around you understand your vision. Success here means delivering actionable recommendations that drive portfolio performance—all while keeping meticulous records and playing a key role in achieving broader business goals.

• Conduct comprehensive fundamental, valuation, and sector analysis on assigned stocks to ensure timely coverage of market developments.
• Attend at least 25 company visits, analyst briefings, conferences, or relevant meetings annually to maintain up-to-date market intelligence.
• Produce high-quality investment research reports that meet internal standards for depth and breadth of coverage across companies and sectors.
• Prepare a minimum of 25 detailed company research reports and sector reports per year or as otherwise set by management targets.
• Strive for outperformance in stock and sector recommendations by leveraging deep market insights and robust analytical frameworks.
• Monitor and update information on stocks within assigned sectors in the stock universe to ensure accuracy and relevance for decision-making.
• Proactively contribute market inputs and generate innovative investment ideas during team discussions and strategy sessions.
• Deliver clear verbal presentations at investment meetings or when called upon by superiors to communicate findings effectively.
• Maintain accurate records required by the department, including gift declarations and broker activity logs, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
• Assist the Head of Department with preparation of internal reports, special projects, marketing materials, proposals, or any ad-hoc assignments as needed.

• Demonstrated knowledge of asset allocation strategies and portfolio management concepts is necessary for effective performance.
• Proven ability to generate original investment ideas based on sound economic fundamentals is highly valued.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and accounts enables accurate assessment of company health.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English is vital for report writing and presentations within the team.
• Exceptional report writing skills combined with advanced analytical abilities are crucial for producing high-quality research outputs.
