Manager, Finance Business Partner
Act as a key financial partner to the business, overseeing financial performance and strategic planning for the Asset Management division. Provide actionable insights beyond reporting to support business strategy, drive profitability, and enable informed decision-making.
Job Responsibilities
1. Strategic Finance Business Partnering
- Act as a trusted advisor to Asset Management Business Heads, delivering financial insights and strategic guidance to drive AUM growth and revenue optimisation.
- Partner closely with Investment, Sales, Product Development, and Operations teams to align financial objectives with overall business strategy.
- Provide a strong commercial perspective on cost optimisation, fee structures, and resource allocation, while challenging conventional approaches to drive value creation.
2. Financial Planning & Analysis (Budgeting & Forecasting)
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting cycles for the asset management business.
- Develop and maintain robust financial models to forecast AUM flows, management and performance fees, and operating expenses.
- Track actual performance against budgets and forecasts, delivering insightful variance analysis and actionable recommendations to manage risks and unlock opportunities.
3. Business Case & Investment Evaluation
- Drive financial assessment and modelling for strategic initiatives across the asset management entities.
- Evaluate financial impact of initiatives such as operational enhancements, digital transformation, system upgrades, and new product launches.
- Analyse CAPEX and OPEX proposals, including ROI, IRR, and payback assessments, to ensure disciplined capital allocation and effective post-implementation tracking.
4. FP&A and Ad-Hoc Analytics
- Prepare high-quality management reports and Board presentation materials for senior stakeholders.
- Develop, monitor, and enhance key performance indicators (KPIs) for the asset management business.
- Conduct competitor and peer benchmarking within the Malaysian asset management industry.
- Continuously improve FP&A processes by leveraging automation, data analytics, and reporting enhancements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, or professional qualification (MIA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
- 5–8 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting; experience in Asset Management is an added advantage.
- Strong financial modelling and Excel skills, with proficiency in building dashboards and PowerPoint presentations.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, impactful business narratives.
- Highly commercial mindset, proactive, resilient, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
