RPG Developer

What you'll do:
As an RPG Developer, you will play a pivotal role in developing robust applications for the Data Warehouse (DWH) and CCRIS reporting systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve coding in RPG/RPGLE within the AS/400 environment, enhancing system functionality through ETL processes, interpreting complex regulatory requirements into actionable system logic, validating data submissions for accuracy, troubleshooting production issues collaboratively with stakeholders, providing critical Level 3 support during reporting cycles—including after-hours when necessary—and coordinating deployment activities. Success in this role requires meticulous attention to detail in documentation preparation as well as strict adherence to governance standards. You will be instrumental in maintaining high system stability while delivering timely enhancements aligned with evolving regulatory changes. - Design, develop, and maintain applications within the Data Warehouse and CCRIS reporting systems using RPG/RPGLE, COBOL, and CL in an AS/400 environment.
- Perform program coding, unit testing, and system enhancements to support data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Support and maintain BNM CCRIS regulatory reporting processes by ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all submissions.
- Interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into system logic and enhancements for improved compliance.
- Conduct technical and functional analysis for incidents, defects, and change requests related to Data Warehouse and CCRIS systems.
- Troubleshoot production issues by performing root cause analysis and collaborating with business users to resolve data discrepancies.
- Provide Level 3 production support for DWH and CCRIS systems by managing incidents, problem tickets, and service requests within SLA timelines.
- Support month-end and regulatory reporting cycles including after-hours assistance when required to ensure seamless operations.
- Coordinate system testing, UAT support, deployment activities, documentation preparation, and adherence to change management processes.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation such as system specifications and process flows while ensuring compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.

The ideal RPG Developer brings substantial experience in Data Warehouse development—particularly within banking or financial services—alongside deep technical proficiency in AS/400 application development using RPG/RPGLE. - Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in Data Warehouse development and support within banking or financial services environments.
- Extensive hands-on experience with AS/400 (IBM iSeries) application development using RPG/RPGLE (mandatory), COBOL, Control Language (CL), SQL including advanced queries and window functions.
- Solid understanding of Data Warehouse concepts including ETL processes as well as data modelling and analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with query/reporting tools across Windows/Linux/AS/400 environments enhances your versatility in handling diverse technical challenges.
- Strong domain knowledge of BNM CCRIS regulatory reporting framework including data validation, reconciliation, submission processes is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of supporting regulatory reporting systems—preferably BNM CCRIS—with zero-defect submissions under tight deadlines.
- Excellent analytical skills paired with gentle problem-solving capabilities enable you to address incidents efficiently while maintaining high data quality standards.
