What you'll do:
As a Senior Tax Manager based in Selangor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s approach to global tax management. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve coordinating complex multi-country compliance activities while fostering collaboration among local finance teams and external advisors. You will be instrumental in driving process improvements that enhance group-wide governance standards—ensuring that all documentation is methodical and robust. By acting as the focal point for strategic projects such as M&A or restructuring initiatives, you will provide critical input on tax implications from inception through execution. Your expertise in transfer pricing will be key as you align intercompany transactions with evolving frameworks. Additionally, you will manage responses to audits or disputes efficiently while building capability within regional teams through ongoing guidance. Success in this role requires not only technical proficiency but also strong interpersonal skills; your ability to connect with colleagues across cultures will help foster an inclusive environment where knowledge-sharing thrives.
- Serve as the central tax governance and coordination lead across the Group’s international entities by collaborating with external advisors and local finance teams to ensure timely and accurate corporate tax, indirect tax, and withholding tax filings.
- Maintain oversight of the Group’s tax compliance status and readiness by monitoring relevant international tax developments such as BEPS/Pillar Two and translating requirements into actionable steps for local teams.
- Act as the initial internal lead for tax considerations in mergers & acquisitions, restructuring, refinancing, and other strategic projects by identifying implications early and documenting defensible positions.
- Lead coordination of transfer pricing documentation preparation and periodic adjustments with external advisors to ensure alignment with the evolving operating model.
- Drive alignment of intercompany transactions, pricing mechanics, and agreements with the Group’s transfer pricing framework while supporting ongoing refinements towards variable returns across entities.
- Coordinate responses to transfer pricing-related queries or audits across jurisdictions by ensuring consistent narratives, robust documentation, and clear roles between local teams and advisors.
- Manage responses to tax audits, enquiries, and disputes by working with local finance teams and external advisors to deliver timely submissions and escalate appropriately when needed.
- Strengthen group-wide tax governance by improving internal processes such as documentation discipline, controls (trackers, position papers), TP true-up mechanics, and standard templates across the international footprint.
- Build capability within local finance teams through guidance and knowledge-sharing to reduce dependence on ad hoc escalation to senior leadership.
- Support IPO readiness by enabling smoother execution as the Group expands under higher scrutiny.

Your interpersonal skills allow you to build trust within diverse teams; your willingness to share knowledge helps others grow professionally. Flexibility comes naturally—you adapt easily when collaborating across time zones or engaging directly with global colleagues during occasional travel.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required for this position.
- Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, ICAEW or SIATP (or equivalent) is essential for demonstrating technical expertise.
- At least 8 years of relevant tax experience in either in-house regional tax or advisory roles is necessary for handling complex multi-jurisdictional matters.
- Demonstrated depth in at least two areas: corporate income tax compliance & advisory (including withholding taxes), indirect taxes (GST/VAT/SST) across multiple jurisdictions or transfer pricing (documentation/policy implementation/true-ups/intercompany arrangements).
- Experience leading or coordinating multi-country tax work with external advisors and local finance teams is highly valued for this role.
- Familiarity with cross-border transactions/regional structures such as PE risks, intercompany services/charges/WHT impact or intercompany financing is important.
