What you'll do:

  • Perform and review general accounting activities to ensure all transactions are accurate and compliant with company policies as well as IFRS or local GAAP requirements.
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities by preparing journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and ensuring timely completion of all related tasks.
  • Prepare and analyse Balance Sheet reconciliations and Income Statements (P&L), providing insightful commentary to support business decision-making processes.
  • Execute monthly foreign currency valuation processes with precision, validating results for accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain and update fixed asset registers regularly, ensuring depreciation calculations are correct and up-to-date.
  • Conduct intercompany reconciliations each month, facilitating confirmations between entities to guarantee data consistency.
  • Prepare detailed monthly management reports that include variance analysis and thoughtful commentary for stakeholders.
  • Ensure strict adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, audit requirements, and support statutory audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting as needed.
  • Monitor outstanding issues proactively, escalating them to relevant stakeholders when necessary to maintain process integrity.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as local finance, accounts payable/receivable, business performance units, and consolidation teams to ensure seamless end-to-end processes.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is required for this position.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA or ICAEW would be considered an added advantage for your application.
  • At least five years of experience in RTR or General Ledger accounting is essential for success in this role.
  • Previous exposure to external audit environments would be beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Experience working within a Shared Services environment is highly desirable due to the nature of this position.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS or local GAAP standards along with strong technical accounting skills is expected.
  • Proficiency in SAP FIORI for SAP S/4HANA systems coupled with advanced Excel abilities is required for daily tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines effectively within a busy environment is crucial for this role.
  • Excellent communication skills combined with strong interpersonal abilities are necessary for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • High attention to detail paired with accuracy in all deliverables is vital; you should also be able to work both independently and collaboratively across teams.
