This newly created role is pivotal in shaping how data is understood, communicated, and utilised across the finance function. * Play a key role in building a centre of excellence for finance data governance, supporting the modernisation of the finance function through impactful literacy and communication initiatives.

As Finance Data Literacy and Communication Manager, you will be at the forefront of transforming how finance professionals engage with data. Your day-to-day activities will involve :

  • Design and implement comprehensive data literacy programmes tailored to varying skill levels within the finance organisation, ensuring all staff have access to relevant learning materials and workshops.
  • Identify gaps in data understanding across departments and develop targeted educational content, including courses, workshops, and interactive sessions to address these needs.
  • Lead the creation and delivery of engaging training sessions focused on data interpretation, analysis, and practical application within business contexts.
  • Collaborate with department heads to seamlessly integrate data literacy into existing professional development frameworks, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Develop and manage multi-channel communication strategies that promote the importance of data-driven decision-making across all levels of the finance function.
  • Produce compelling content such as newsletters, blogs, presentations, and videos that demystify complex data concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Facilitate storytelling with data by helping teams articulate insights and outcomes from their analyses in ways that resonate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Engage proactively with cross-functional teams to understand their unique data challenges and requirements, acting as a trusted advisor in building a culture that values data integration.
  • Oversee end-to-end project management for all data literacy initiatives, including budget oversight, timeline management, resource allocation, and milestone tracking.
  • Utilise analytics tools to assess the effectiveness of training programmes and communication efforts, providing regular reports on outcomes while recommending improvements based on feedback.


To excel as Finance Data Literacy and Communication Manager, you will bring substantial experience from similar roles where you have championed organisational learning around complex subjects like data governance or analytics. Your background may include :

  • A minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in communication or training roles within a Chief Data Office or Big Four consulting environment, ideally within insurance or broader financial services sectors.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing training programmes aimed at improving organisational data maturity across multiple departments or business units.
  • Proven ability to synthesise complex technical information into clear messages tailored for business users at all levels of understanding.
  • Experience rolling out large-scale training initiatives related to data management or analytics within corporate environments.
  • Comprehensive understanding of how effective data management impacts business performance and decision-making processes.
  • Track record of developing engaging communication materials—such as newsletters, blogs, presentations—that successfully increase awareness around key topics among non-technical audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with a history of building trusted relationships across cross-functional teams to drive cultural change around data usage.
  • Solid project management capabilities including budgeting, resource planning, timeline tracking, risk mitigation, and outcome measurement for learning or communications projects.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken) with excellent interpersonal skills that foster collaboration across diverse groups.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university; additional qualifications in education technology or communications would be advantageous.
