GL Accountant SSC (12 Months Contract)

As a General Ledger Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of financial records while working alongside a knowledgeable team. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve :

• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts by preparing journal entries, reconciling balances, and ensuring all transactions are properly recorded in accordance with established policies.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing schedules, analysing variances, and collaborating closely with other members of the finance team.
• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and reports that comply with relevant accounting standards and internal guidelines.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and support throughout the audit process.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, company policies, and internal controls by regularly reviewing procedures and implementing improvements as needed.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to resolve discrepancies, share information, and promote a culture of teamwork within the organisation.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and transparency within the finance function.
• Provide support for ad hoc projects or assignments as required by management or senior accountants.
• Monitor account activity on an ongoing basis to identify unusual transactions or potential issues requiring further investigation.
• Contribute to the preparation of tax filings and regulatory submissions by gathering data and ensuring completeness of supporting documentation.
