What you'll do:
Complete month-end closing activities such as Group Recharge accruals, posting payroll entries, fixed asset depreciation calculations, prepaid expenses management, intercompany loan interest postings, VAT checks, and foreign exchange revaluations.
Provide audit support for both local statutory requirements and Group IFRS reporting by preparing accurate documentation and responding promptly to queries.
Assist supervisors in explaining monthly balance sheet movements during month-end closing processes and follow up efficiently to resolve abnormal variances.
Check and resolve intercompany imbalances across balance sheet and profit & loss accounts by collaborating closely with ICO partners.
Strictly adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Working Instructions (WI) in daily operations while proactively updating these documents as needed.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of overall accounting workflows to contribute effectively towards meeting key performance indicator targets.
Act as backup for team members involved in the Record-to-Report (RTR) process by supporting ad hoc tasks assigned by supervisors.
Collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure smooth financial operations and timely completion of tasks.
Utilise Microsoft Office tools proficiently for data analysis, reporting, and communication purposes within the team.
Engage actively in training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance your skills and stay updated on best practices.
What you bring:
A bachelor’s degree preferably in finance or accounting provides you with the foundational knowledge required for this position.
At least two years of relevant general accounting experience ensures you can handle complex financial tasks confidently.
Workable English communication skills enable you to interact effectively with colleagues from various backgrounds.
Fluency in German is essential for liaising with international partners and handling cross-border transactions.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications allows you to manage data efficiently and produce clear reports.
Experience with Microsoft AX 2012 or Dynamics 365 is considered advantageous for streamlining accounting workflows.
Ability to work under pressure demonstrates your resilience during peak periods such as month-end closings.
Quick learning aptitude helps you adapt rapidly to new systems or changes in procedures within the department.
