What you'll do:

As a Senior Accountant based in Petaling Jaya, you will play an integral role in overseeing the organisation’s day-to-day finance operations. Your responsibilities will span managing complete sets of accounts, preparing detailed financial reports, supporting audits, monitoring cash flow, and ensuring compliance at every stage. Success in this position requires a meticulous approach to handling complex transactions, strong analytical skills for reconciling data, and the ability to communicate clearly with both internal teams and external partners.   • Manage the full set of accounts including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions with precision and care.
  • Prepare monthly management reports and comprehensive financial statements that accurately reflect the organisation’s financial position.
  • Perform thorough bank reconciliations as well as balance sheet reconciliations to ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Oversee timely month-end and year-end closing activities by coordinating with relevant stakeholders and adhering strictly to deadlines.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and necessary adjustments in accordance with established accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Assist in compiling audit schedules and tax-related documentation, working closely with auditors and tax agents to facilitate smooth reviews.
  • Monitor cash flow regularly while supporting budgeting and forecasting activities to help drive informed business decisions.
  • Ensure strict compliance with internal controls, company policies, and recognised accounting standards such as IFRS or GAAP.
  • Liaise effectively with auditors, tax agents, and various internal stakeholders to address queries promptly and maintain transparent communication.

The ideal Senior Accountant brings proven experience managing comprehensive accounting functions within a fast-moving business environment. Your background includes not only technical qualifications but also practical exposure to preparing management reports, performing reconciliations, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You are adept at using modern accounting systems alongside advanced spreadsheet tools to streamline processes.   • Possess a Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline from a recognised institution which underpins your technical expertise.
  • Demonstrate 3–5 years of hands-on experience in accounting roles where you have managed full sets of accounts independently.
  • Display advanced skills using Excel along with familiarity with accounting software like SQL, SAP, AutoCount or similar platforms.
  • Exhibit exceptional attention to detail combined with strong analytical abilities for reviewing reconciliations and identifying discrepancies.
  • Work dependably under pressure by meeting tight deadlines without compromising on accuracy or quality of output.
  • Communicate effectively with both internal colleagues and external parties such as auditors or tax agents through clear written and verbal exchanges.
