What you'll do:

As a Senior Accountant at this Penang-based food manufacturing facility, you will immerse yourself in daily accounting operations that underpin the company’s financial health. Your responsibilities will span processing transactions according to local standards, managing ledgers with precision, handling cost allocations across procurement and production stages, and supporting budget preparation alongside the Financial Manager. You will be instrumental in compiling detailed financial reports for headquarters while ensuring compliance with Malaysian regulations. • Process daily transactions including income, expenses, receivables/payables, and fixed assets according to Malaysian accounting standards and company policies, ensuring accuracy and clarity in all records.
• Prepare journal entries, maintain ledgers, and ensure comprehensive documentation that meets the requirements of a food manufacturing business.
• Manage cost allocation and calculation across raw material procurement, production processes, and finished goods inventory to support effective cost control.
• Accurately calculate product costs, analyse cost variances, and propose strategies for cost optimisation that contribute to business efficiency.
• Assist the Financial Manager in preparing budgets, tracking performance against them, and compiling financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure timely submission of accurate financial reports to headquarters by maintaining clear communication channels and adhering to reporting deadlines.
• Adhere strictly to Malaysian financial laws and company policies while organising and archiving financial documents such as vouchers, reports, contracts for traceability.
• Support internal audits and inspections from headquarters by providing necessary documentation and facilitating audit processes.
