What you'll do:

As a Commercial Finance Manager in Johor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s commercial strategy by acting as a bridge between finance and other key departments. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to provide expert financial guidance that supports both tactical decisions and long-term planning.   • Serve as the primary finance business partner for Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain teams by building strong relationships and understanding commercial objectives.
  • Provide financial guidance to support decision-making processes across multiple departments while promoting a data-driven culture.
  • Challenge assumptions constructively and offer recommendations that improve revenue growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on pricing strategies, customer negotiations, promotional campaigns, product launches, and investment decisions.
  • Conduct detailed customer, product, and channel profitability analyses to identify growth opportunities and optimise commercial performance.
  • Evaluate business cases, capital investments, and strategic initiatives by assessing financial risks and expected returns.
  • Support commercial negotiations with comprehensive financial analysis and scenario modelling to ensure informed outcomes.
  • Monitor business performance proactively by identifying risks, opportunities, and corrective actions for continuous improvement.
  • Present insightful financial recommendations to senior management and business stakeholders in clear and engaging formats.
  • Promote financial awareness across non-finance functions to foster a culture of informed decision-making.

What you bring:

Your background as a Commercial Finance Manager should demonstrate deep expertise in finance business partnering within sectors such as manufacturing or FMCG. You bring advanced analytical skills that allow you to interpret complex data sets quickly—turning numbers into meaningful stories that guide decision-makers. Your proficiency with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle ensures seamless integration of reporting processes while your familiarity with tools like Power BI enhances your ability to automate tasks efficiently. You have successfully managed budgeting cycles from start to finish; your forecasting accuracy has contributed directly to improved organisational outcomes. Your interpersonal skills enable you to build trust across departments—ensuring everyone feels supported when navigating challenging commercial scenarios. With a professional qualification (such as ACCA or CIMA) under your belt—or equivalent practical experience—you are comfortable presenting recommendations confidently yet sensitively so stakeholders feel included rather than challenged.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline is required for this position.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A or Finance Business Partnering within manufacturing, FMCG, industrial, healthcare, retail or consumer businesses is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen with proven experience supporting strategic business decisions through financial analysis.
  • Expertise in budgeting processes including annual budgeting cycles as well as rolling forecasts for long-term planning.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel coupled with hands-on experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or JDE.
  • Exposure to Power BI or Tableau or other business intelligence tools would be advantageous for reporting automation.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities enabling you to influence decisions while maintaining positive relationships at all levels.
  • Experience in developing robust financial models for scenario analysis supporting strategic initiatives.
