What you'll do:
As the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager based in Johor Bahru, you will be entrusted with comprehensive responsibility for all aspects of financial planning, analysis, reporting, and process improvement within the site. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with business partners across departments to ensure robust budgeting practices are maintained. You will lead efforts in analysing financial performance at both site and customer levels, providing valuable insights that inform operational strategies. By managing Customer P&L reviews alongside business leaders, you will help shape profitability outcomes while nurturing cost productivity initiatives. Your role extends to overseeing critical accounting functions including inventory management, revenue recognition under IFRS 15 standards, warranty tracking, and compliance with other relevant accounting guidelines. You will also be responsible for validating savings from cost productivity projects, coordinating intercompany transfers smoothly, reviewing quotations for accuracy in pricing models, managing timely closings at month-end or quarter-end intervals, reconciling balance sheets regularly, tracking costs weekly for optimal resource allocation, ensuring transparent communication between corporate FP&A teams regionally—and ultimately driving process simplification through innovative thinking. Success in this role requires not only technical expertise but also a collaborative approach that fosters trust among stakeholders.
- You will take ownership of monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeting as well as forecasting processes to ensure accurate financial planning across the site.
- You will conduct detailed site and customer-level financial bridging alongside deep dive analysis to provide actionable insights for business improvement.
- Your responsibilities include managing Customer Profit & Loss statements and leading monthly reviews with both business and operations teams to drive profitability.
- You will act as a finance business partner, collaborating with business and operations teams to nurture cost productivity improvements and foster profitable growth.
- You will review cost productivity projects, validate savings, and coordinate with intercompany sites on business transfers to ensure seamless transitions.
- You will perform quotation and repricing reviews while developing financial models and simulating scenarios to support strategic decision-making.
- You will manage timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities including costing and reporting requirements.
- You will oversee critical accounting processes such as inventory management, costing, IFRS 15 revenue recognition, warranty management, and adherence to other accounting standards.
- You will perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and reviews to maintain financial integrity.
- You will track costs weekly, proactively coordinate with corporate and regional FP&A teams for data transparency, and drive process simplification through innovation.
