A leading multinational organisation is seeking a Regional Financial Controller to join their Selangor-based team, offering you the opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy and supporting business growth across Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific. What you'll do:

  • Advise the CEO and regional leadership team on all financial matters to support strategic planning, operational priorities, and commercial objectives.
  • Implement group-wide financial initiatives within the region, including treasury management, tax compliance, and commercial strategies.
  • Lead monthly and yearly reporting processes for all entities in the region, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls.
  • Coordinate forecasting and budgeting activities for short- and mid-term plans according to group requirements, presenting financial assumptions to executive boards.
  • Manage cost control measures, expense tracking, and performance monitoring against defined targets to optimise profitability.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis and simulations, proactively communicating findings to both regional leadership and group finance teams.
  • Review areas for process improvement in line with group policies, defining actions for implementation and managing change across entities.
  • Ensure correct project accounting practices—including provisions for cost-to-complete, liabilities for non-conformance, warranties, payment risks—and develop control measures for commercial milestones.
  • Oversee inventory valuation processes to ensure compliance with accounting standards; monitor stock aging and report on obsolete inventory provisions affecting business profitability.

What you bring:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance is required; ideally 8-10 years’ experience in a managerial controlling or corporate finance function within a multinational corporation.
  • Proven hands-on capabilities in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), treasury management—including FX risk mitigation—and deep understanding of local/global GAAP & IFRS standards.
  • Experience as a business partner to senior executive management (CEO/CFO/SVP/Regional CEO), preferably having worked towards shareholders in complex environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead international multicultural teams at all levels while fostering an inclusive atmosphere that encourages knowledge sharing.
  • Track record of successfully implementing strategic projects from corporate instruction or within business units; experience with M&A projects (due diligence/integration) is advantageous.
  • Expertise in SAP FI-CO modules as well as SAP BW/BPC/TMS systems; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint is essential.
  • Experience managing multiple global entities with exposure to SEA/AP region; hands-on approach combined with interest in operational details is highly valued.
  • Ability to evaluate business decisions/projects regarding their financial impact; skilled at building business plans translating strategies into actionable numbers.
  • Competence in cost control measures, expense management, inventory valuation processes—including monitoring stock aging—and reporting on provisions affecting profitability.
  • Behavioural competencies such as advanced skills in relating & networking, formulating strategies & concepts, adapting/responding to change, adhering to principles & values.
