Senior Finance Analyst

Save job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Analyst to join a globally recognised organisation in Kedah, where your expertise will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and operational excellence of site activities.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a multi-national environment and is passionate about bridging the gap between site-level operations and corporate financial requirements. You will be empowered to drive financial compliance, manage capital expenditure with precision, and act as a trusted partner to both internal teams and external stakeholders. The organisation is committed to fostering an inclusive, accessible environment where every employee feels valued, respected, and supported. If you are looking for a role that offers professional growth, exposure to advanced systems such as SAP, and the chance to make a tangible impact on business outcomes, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Finance Analyst based in Kedah, you will be entrusted with responsibilities that are central to the success of site operations. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating closely with various departments to ensure seamless month-end closings while upholding rigorous standards for balance sheet integrity. You will take charge of capital expenditure management from inception through completion—overseeing budgets, conducting thorough ROI analyses, verifying assets on-site, and preparing comprehensive reports that inform strategic decisions. In addition to these core duties, you will play an instrumental role during internal and external audits by ensuring strict compliance with regulatory frameworks such as SOX/Internal Controls. Your expertise in local tax matters will be invaluable as you handle filings, coordinate with tax agents, and provide essential support for incentive programmes. By leveraging advanced systems like SAP alongside other ERP tools and BI platforms such as Power BI or Advanced Excel, you will drive automation efforts that enhance accuracy while simplifying complex workflows. Success in this role requires not only technical proficiency but also exceptional communication skills; you will regularly translate intricate financial data into meaningful insights for both operational teams and senior leadership. Your proactive approach towards process improvement will help foster an environment where best practices are shared openly—ensuring ongoing excellence across all facets of finance.

  • Lead the month-end closing process by coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting that meets both site-level and corporate standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations and variance analyses to maintain data transparency and uphold the highest standards of financial integrity.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of capital expenditure projects, including budget planning, ROI analysis, tracking, asset verification, and detailed reporting to ensure all initiatives align with governance requirements.
  • Serve as a primary contact for internal and external audits by facilitating information flow, supporting audit requests, and driving adherence to SOX/Internal Control requirements while continuously improving processes.
  • Manage local tax compliance activities such as tax filings, deferred tax calculations, coordination with tax agents, and providing operational support for incentive reporting requirements.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to operations and cross-functional teams by translating complex financial data into actionable insights that influence decision-making at multiple organisational levels.
  • Leverage SAP and other ERP systems to automate accounting processes, simplify workflows, improve data accuracy, and enhance overall efficiency within finance operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen internal controls, and implement best practices across all areas of responsibility.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels by presenting clear financial analyses, recommendations, and updates tailored to diverse audiences within the organisation.
  • Support business objectives by proactively managing competing priorities while maintaining a high level of attention to detail in all aspects of financial management.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Finance Analyst position brings substantial experience gained within manufacturing sectors—particularly those operating under multi-national structures—where navigating complex regulatory landscapes is second nature. Your background includes extensive involvement in balance sheet reviews alongside deep familiarity with internal audit protocols designed to safeguard organisational assets. You have successfully managed end-to-end capital expenditure cycles: from initial budgeting through rigorous return-on-investment assessments right down to final asset verifications—all while ensuring strict adherence to established governance frameworks. Your technical toolkit features advanced command over SAP complemented by fluency in other enterprise resource planning systems plus analytical platforms like Power BI or sophisticated Excel modelling techniques. Beyond technical prowess lies your ability to communicate persuasively; whether engaging operational colleagues or briefing senior executives on nuanced financial matters—you consistently deliver clarity tailored for each audience. Academic credentials underpin your practical achievements: holding at least a bachelor’s degree (with further professional certification being highly regarded). What truly sets you apart is your capacity for independent work amidst shifting priorities—a testament not only to reliability but also adaptability within fast-evolving environments. Your commitment extends beyond numbers: championing inclusivity ensures everyone benefits from equitable opportunities throughout their journey.

  • A minimum of five years’ relevant experience in finance roles within manufacturing environments is required along with familiarity working in multi-national corporation settings.
  • Demonstrated hands-on expertise in balance sheet reviews coupled with strong knowledge of internal audit procedures and control frameworks such as SOX is essential.
  • Proven track record managing the complete capital expenditure lifecycle—including budget planning, ROI analysis, asset verification—and aligning projects with governance standards is highly valued.
  • Advanced proficiency using SAP is mandatory; experience with other ERP systems as well as business intelligence tools like Power BI or advanced Excel functions would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary for effective stakeholder management across diverse teams; you should be able to present complex information clearly to non-financial audiences.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline is required; professional qualifications such as CPA or ACCA (or equivalent) are strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities simultaneously demonstrates your dependability under pressure without compromising quality or accuracy.
  • A proactive mindset focused on problem-solving combined with meticulous attention to detail ensures robust compliance across all areas of responsibility.
  • Experience supporting local tax compliance—including filings, deferred tax calculations—and providing operational assistance for incentive reporting adds significant value.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards within an inclusive workplace environment reflects your understanding of the importance of diversity and accessibility.
