SEA Financial Accountant (6 months contract)

A leading organisation in Malaysia is seeking a Finance Accountant to join their team in Puchong. You will play a pivotal part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with international standards, and continuous improvement of accounting processes.

What you'll do:

As a Finance Accountant, you will be entrusted with overseeing the full spectrum of finance operations for Southeast Asia.

• Perform general accounting review tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations, ensuring all closing activities are completed accurately
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities to ensure financial statements are prepared on time and reflect true financial positions.
• Review and approve monthly closing journal entries prepared by the shared service centre team, maintaining high standards of accuracy.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations each month, approving work completed by the SSC team to ensure compliance with company policies.
• Review intercompany cross charges for accuracy and adherence to internal guidelines, supporting transparent financial operations.
• Prepare statutory financial statements according to local GAAP or IFRS requirements for each SEA country under your remit.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of country-specific statutory reporting requirements to ensure all obligations are met efficiently.

What you bring:

Your proven track record as a Finance Accountant will demonstrate your ability to handle complex accounting review tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy.

• Proven experience performing general accounting review tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and closing activities within a corporate setting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities while ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
• Experience reviewing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by remote teams or shared service centres.
• Familiarity with intercompany cross charges processes and ensuring compliance with internal policies.
